Sea Island Red Pea (Bean) Bush?? or Pole??

Hello all,

I am going to start some Sea Island Red Peas from a store purchase bag (Anson**Mills) and can not find any reference on the web as to plant habit. Anybody know if this "field pea" is bush or pole. I need to know before planting so that I can prepare (or not) the trellis. Waiting to see is not an option for me. I do not know if they will grow but want to try.

It is a bush cowpea.

Thanks DarJones. I searched everywhere and most results were about cooking. Sure hope these peas meant for cooking will sprout!!

they are short runners. Plant on either side of trellis or fence 2 to 4" apart
