A recent article in the AJC showed a young girl holding up a bunch of what were called "red noodle" beans. They resembled yard long beans only in as far as they were long, but seemed thicker and more substantial than the slender yard longs. Also, even though it was a b/w pic the color of the hulls looked deep and glossy. The article was about members of a synagoge raising vegetables for the congregation; maybe this is a vegetable native to the Middle East? In any case I'd like to give this interesting bean a try and hope someone on this forum has some info!
