lawn flowers

Here in Santa Cruz, CA, my garden beds and pots spontaneous grow charming, small (about 1/4 inch)blue-flowered plants in great profusion, along with the scarlet pimpernel. the flower is light/medium blue, with four petals, almost violet-shaped with lines on a white area on the lower petal, and four sepals. The leaves are about 1/2 inch, scalloped, small, and slightly furry, I think. I love them and would like to know what they are.

These are possibly Veronica persica, also known as Persian Speedwell or Birdseye Speedwell. If they are Veronica persica, they're native to Eurasia.
