Powdery mildew?

Tell us more about the "salt" as in how many leaves is it on.

And where on the plant those leaves are -- tip of stems; middle of stems; lower leaves?

And where it is on the leaf (top, bottom, edge, center) as well as its size, shape, and whatever else you notice.

Just happened to think -- and this is a wild guess -- perhaps it's cast skins of aphids?

donn, looking at the picture, I don't think it is powdery mildew.

jean001- it is on 3 or 4 leaves on the top of the plant. On the leaf itself, it is probably located towards the center of the top of the leaf - collected at it's lowest point where it dips down to attach to the stem. It literally looks like 1/2 tsp of wet kosher salt not all in one clump but irregularly clumped here and there.

Any ideas?
