Hi. Your season's are opposite of ours correct? I don't know how cold it gets there but most plumies go through a period of dormancy in the winter, even in the warm climates. They can't take cold temps so here (zone 7) we bring them inside and put them in a cool room for the winter. They get very little water, if any, while dormant. In the spring they are brought back outside and a normal water and feeding schedule starts. People in the tropical zones leave their plumies in the ground year round.

if its march here then it should just be getting warm enough for them to be outside depeneding on your zone. the should be out in sun for most of the day and you should probably water them every 2 or 3 days. you can also try fertilizer thats high in phosphorus

As Karyn said, plumies cannot take freezing weather or hard frosts. You are heading into winter so the leaves will yellow and drop off. The bare stems need no water or a mist on the soil until they start growing claws for you around the end of September or early October. Bring them out when the danger of frost is gone and give them some epsoms salts and water to wake them up. Follow with high phosphorus fertilizer every two weeks which you stop (in the southern Hemi) about Feb or March so the plant can harden up for your winter. If your temperatures do not get below 4C you can leave outside. If colder you need to cover with frost cloth if short frosts or bring inside for the winter. Bill
