    Hooray!

I found eggs today at Bi-Lo! I got the BIG ones, hopw they are big enough!

We are having a 'wintery mix' today, GRRRRR. I have had PLEANTY of winter already this year thanks so much! :O

Hope you are all having a terrific day! I am off to make dinner and see how much really fite inside one of these eggs!

    Frances

Frances, you have a Bi-Lo??? I'm so jealous! I've only had them overseas.

We do have a new 'fruit market' here, though. Very European and sparse. Great and inexpensive fresh foods and little Asian ladies serving. And they have baby bok choy and celeriac and the like. I love it! DH has a working dinner, and I am enjoying a completely vegetarian meal!

Wintry-mix? In NC in March? Isn't that a bit unusual? We even had a nice day here in NJ, for a change. I think it hit 45 degrees. Took Dog for a walk around the neighborhood.

Some bareroot plants arrived today. Still two feet of snow on ground. Must go pot them up in basement and put under lights.

    Have a good nite, all.
    Dottie

    YAY!! Buddies are posted!!!

I too am SICK of the snow!!! The kids were out of school today & will be again in the a.m. Looks like we will be going into June before school is out!!

Think I'll start some seeds indoors tonight. Might as well winter sow some in the am too! The poor robins are wishing they stayed south for a week longer.

    later...April

great I get to send to Beth, post a wish list please, bunny don't include any h germs please. dh just wouldn't understand. hugs to all my bloomin friends. Heidi are you gonna be a big sis to Christine ?thankyou if so, if not bad Heidi

April-You must have gotten the same snow mixed with rain that we got. Kids were out of school here again and have to make it up this Sat.

Of course the blizzard of 1993 was on March 12th. We received 24" that time.

Remy-I'm so jealous of your trip to Florida. Glad your Dad is doing well. If you still want to join this swap we can work something out.

Dottie-I never thought about different places having different grocery stores. We have a Bi-Lo and three Ingles.
Believe it or not all three Ingles stores does very well here. Winn Dixie closed here some years ago. Wal-Mart has a few groceries but it is not a super Wal-Mart so not a big variety.

Yeah I send to Christine and Dottie sends to me.

    Shirley

    Annie

    Good Morning!

April, I can't believe how much snow we have had in the south this year! I know the children are enjoying days off now, but the make up days will be tough!
Pretty as snow is, I am glad it is gone this morning! I want to get started on my outdoor projects before it gets hot! The rain and wet has made it near impossible to get anything done this winter! 4 'snow events' in one season YUK!!!!

    Dottie,
we have Bi-Lo, FoodLion, LowesFoods and Harris Teeter, I really miss Fresh Markets and Bakeries like we used to have back home.

    Remy
    Have fun in Florida!

Gotta run Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning all

Yes I am Christine's big sis. We completed a trade and I told her all the rules I could remember. I don't think that I ever received an official list of rules so it was just the basics. If anyone has a list they could post it on the thread so that we could all have a refresher course :Op

Ok I have been promising a game and I hope to be posting it today. It will be a bingo similar to the one we played in the Christmas Card swap.

    Have a great day all

    Hey Heidi!
    Sent you an email.

Outside today still covered in snow...but the air smells of spring. That fabulous smell...that makes you want to breathe deep because you can feel the seasons changing :0)

    Going back outside..........

    Talk to you all soon!
    vina

Annie, sent you a reply. You sure are thorough! :)

Heidi, I'm confused! Whats the objective of the game?

What size box is everyone using to send eggs? The small is definately too small, but I think they would roll around in a medium... I suppose that means I need to fit more goodies in!! (Plotting evil goodness!)
    ~Laura

    Hi Laura
In regards to the game. Instead of crossing off numbers like on a bingo card. You will be crossing off your words. When you have all 20 crossed off you win. Hope that explains it better.

I am sending my eggs in a 7x7x6 small mailing box.

I have 2 emails so far of people playing. I will post a list of players before the game starts to make sure that everyone is included.

    Heidi

    OK, I'm in!
    ~Laura

    Getting my list together, Heidi!

I probably went overboard....I sent a medium flat rate box full of stuff! I did include 6 eggs of various sizes, though....just also put in bunches more goodies.
Oh well. I AM a bunny, so it's in my nature to go overboard, I suppose! :o)

I'll play, my words will be arriving shortly. thanks Margo

Hi Margo....getting ready to go look at your info page. Please let me know any specifics not on there....this will be fun!

    Theresa

    Heidi,

I just emailed you my 20 bingo words. I love these games...even if I do not win...LOL!

    Thanks!!

    Annie

I tried 6 of the small plastic eggs and they fit into the "Small" flat rate box.
I think the challenge is to find stuff that fits into the eggs. That IS tricky.
Maybe I can find the next bigger size eggs.

    Heidi, I'm sending my words.

    Hi, everyone!

    Treasa

    Hi all!
If the object of the swap is to get everything in those eggs AND THEN in the box...I have already failed miserably :0)

I do have things in eggs....but....most is "special wrapped" and I'm still looking for one "gotta get" item that is proving to be a little difficult.

I'm with Bunny, I'll be sending a Med. Flat Rate too.

Dottie, hopefully sending your box out next week. This weekend I am on the hunt!!

    Have a great Thursday everyone!

    Heidi

    Hi all
I hope that you are all well. There hasn't been much posting lately.

    The words for tonight are...

    Basket and Hyacinth

This weekend was beautiful. I had Girl Scout stuff most of yesterday but I did get out a little today. We still have piles of snow here and there. A few more weeks till spring. I planted lots of tulips last fall. I can't wait to see if they come up. Melt snow Melt!!

    Heidi

YAY! I have a bunch of words!

I'm with you Heidi, I want to see how many of my bulbs will pop up, too. I planted tulips, crocus, a few grape hyacinths and a few lily bulbs. Also, as soon as the ground can be worked I have a few more lily bulbs to plant that were kindly sent to me over the winter, and which I'm just dying to see bloom. In other news... batch 1 of the basil sprouted yesterday!! *dances* Teensy little green specks of potential. They're under lights in the office now, and dreams of pesto running through my head! (Oh how I love fresh pesto...)
Time to wipe the drool off,
    ~Laura

    Hi everyone........

Heidi-You are doing great on the words...keep up the good work.

What a gorgeous week-end we had here. DH and I got one of our huge flower beds cleaned up. All to do now on that one is to fill it with pine needles. We have to rake them and haul to the flower bed so that is lots of work also.

Christine-I have your eggs almost ready to go.

    Shirley

    Hi All,
Homosexual - Hormonal, LOL! It looks like you all have been having good fun! I would of never guess that many rabbits. I read at the beginning that we had until the 5th to join, but then the day after I posted, names went up. I was confused, but I didn't write anything. Since I read through all the posts I see it was upped. It is ok, it wasn't make or break if I didn't join the swap.
You all would love to go to the Broadway Market that I've spoke of before before Easter for the Ukrainian and Polish eggs. They are so beautiful. Oh and the Polish pottery and all the yummy food too.
I'm just old enough to remember the white gloves and the dresses, etc. It would be nice if everyone got all gussied up like they used to.

I hope everyone who is in pain or sick , is better soon!

    Margaret,
I hope your husband is well soon.

    Dottie,
I hope your remodeling goes smoothly. I also hope you don't float away once the snow melts. Remember to post pics from the flower show! I want to go one of these years. I'll be going to the Rochester one later this week.

    Shirley,
    Loved the shower pics!

    Laura,
Some people are so stupid. Growing up, my brother's best friend was Jewish so when I got older and heard about bigotry I couldn't understand it. I still don't understand.

    Melissa,
Congrats to William. Don't be hard on yourself when things don't go right with doing things for the kids! You do tons for them and they will have lots of great memories of childhood.

Ok, got to go for now,
    Remy

My box is ready and all I have to do is get to town and mail it. I am heading in the opposite directions today but we have a 24/7 kiosk so if I get a chance, will send it later. If not, tomorrow. Then I will be back to post the DC.

The sun is shining bright here today. Unfortunately, the drifts on all my bulbs are in the front where we just get morning sun so it may take a while for it all to melt. I have actually been shoveling off the tops little by little to help nature along. The foliage has been coming up even with the snow all over it. Determined little things. They are as anxious to see the spring as I am.

    Happy day to everyone. Margo

    Good Morning,

Heidi, I did not get your email. I emailed you my address last night!

    Thanks!

    Annie

I am glad to see so many posting!!

Remy~ Please accept my apologies. I didn't see your post where you were considering joining. We were all anxious for our partners so I moved up the date.

Annie~ I did get your email. I just have to pack in a few more things and then it will be in the mail!!

Laura~ how do you make pesto?

I hope to take the boys outside today. Its a little chilly but that fresh air helps them to sleep better at night.

I will be back later with our Bingo word

    Heidi

    Happy Monday everyone!
I just wanted to pop in and say that I received my box from Laura today. I'm waiting to open it after I pick Taylor up from school. She just loves boxes!

    Have a great day!!
    vina

Remy, I came across your website the other day. I knew you had a new business but I didn't know you had the perfect business. Congrats and I hope it's going well for you!

Heidi, I make pesto by stuffing basil leaves, olive oil, and a little bit of red bell pepper into my small food chopper and blend like crazy. Some people use pine nuts but I never have those on hand. When everything has a 'saucy' consistency I pour it into a labeled freezer bag and lay it flat. Then, when its frozen I can break off pieces whenever I want, or throw a chunk into a recipe that calls for fresh basil. Its very easy and very yummy! I'm almost out of my batch from October (I've been rationing all winter) but I refuse to buy pre-made pesto because it's so expensive.

Vina, I'm glad you're waiting for Taylor to open the box, because I put something in there for her, too!
    ~L

Carol, have you received your box yet? This is the second swap where it has taken a week for my boxes to get where they are going!! I am very perturbed at the postal system right now.
If this continues, I will NOT be swapping plants this year! UGH!

Well..........Taylor and I opened the box that Laura sent.........................

Hi all, just got back from playing softball (they talked me into playing on the school team....yeah in ALL my free time!). So sore with that and actually working in the garden yesterday.

Anyway, Margo your box is almost finished. I aim for finishing it and sending it off Wednesday. Will post when I do.

    Theresa
