Please let me take the time to update you on Sue (skholer) who was recently hospitalized.

IÂve had several telephone conversations with her. She remains in high spirits and just wants to get well. She has a blood clot in her lung and is being treated with bed rest, medications and monitoring. There will be a period of down time for her and she will not be participating in trades for the time being until she is up and about and able to pack her own boxes. SheÂs very bored right now, and especially missing her animals and reading updates/posts on the forums.

Her brother Jim has been an absolute God-send to her and is taking care of her father, her animals and some trade boxes that she had packed and ready to go. HeÂs working on hooking up her computer to a different location, as she is going to require bed rest once sheÂs discharged. SueÂs hoping for a discharge this weekend, but itÂs iffy as of today.

SheÂs currently at Battle Creek Medical Center, 300 North Avenue, Battle Creek MI 49017. Her room number is 3104. IÂm almost positive she would love to hear from all her garden web friends.

If you need any other information, please contact me through e-mail and IÂll pass it on to you.

    Be well,
    Maryanne/Earthly

I just saw that when i got on here to send Sue her Conf. # on the leprechaun package I mailed her! Maybe her brother will get for her and it will help cheer her up! Melinda

melinda, her brother is in fact taking care of pretty much everything. her dad lives with her and he's there checking on him and the animals, so i am sure he will sort through the mail. please let me know if there is anything perishable in it and i'll let him know. otherwise, i'm sure she be excited opening it when she gets home.

i believe sue's pal in this swap is debby? can i get her/your address and i will make up a box and send it on behalf of sue. are there any specific rules to this swap, or a free-for-all? i assume you are following a "green" theme.

please e-mail me with the address.

    thanks
    maryanne/earthly

Susan, Wow! Your gift package arrived in two days!!! From Florida to Iowa??? That has to be a record for the post office lately, huh? AND, your gift of seeds from Park's came today, too. GREAT timing. But you had it planned that way, right? ;P

I want you to know how much I love what all you sent! The cute red pen with the fuzzy red top and the ladybug on the tiptop. Plus the socks with the little red ladybug on them. I just love them! Yes, the kids at school will definitely wear the shamrock stickers. I will take them with me tomorrow so I have them on Friday. What a great gift! Thank you also for the beautiful shamrock pin and Irish prayer card. I will wear the pin on Friday, too, along with some ponytail holders that have the head of a fat little leprechaun on them. I got those from Carol/Vee. I will also be wearing some green fake fingernails that have shamrocks on each nail. Those came in another gift box from a friend. I am Irish so I should be pretty well decked out, don't you think??? Also, thanks for the deLISH Ghirardelli DARK chocolate squares with white mint filling. Yes, you are right when you say that dark chocolate is good for you. I will tell myself when I eat every single one! HAHA! I want you to know how thrilled I am with the seeds that you had sent to me from Park's Seeds. I looked each of them up on the Park's site--marigold capriccio, Janie harmony improved, and aurora light yellow. I am truly excited. I will be starting each seed with plans to plant each plant along each side of our 400' long driveway. That's what DH was wanting to do last summer, but it just didn't work out in time.

Many, many thanks, Susan, for a bunch of absolutely wonderful gifts. You're a real peach of a gal! I see you are/were one of "those" teachers. Do/Did you enjoy teaching that age? Have a great St. Patrick's Day! Mellen

Well first of all I hope Miss Susie is resting comfortably it is hard to do when you have responsibilities but try and relax and get strong...I am praying for you...:)

Hi Mellen, your welcome! Well I was starting out with a St. Pat's theme and was overcome by ladybugs...lol. I think there were 4 packs of marigolds you may have one more straggling in!
RE: Teaching, I really enjoyed the middle schoolers, kind of retired at present but want to go back....miss doing the yearbook. whoa. Can't believe I said that!!! (yearbook, not teaching, always ended up costing me every year..lol.)

Susan, I will check the Park's box again when I get home today. With all of the tight packing that was in there, there could easily have been another pack of seeds.

You miss the yearbook??? Now that is rather interesting!?! I've been at this for almost 28 years, and I still love coming to work every day. I must be a little crazy--just like the kids.(I say that with love, folks.) Need to get busy. Everyone have a GREAT day! Mellen

    Aurore,
Thank you so much for my St. Patrick goodies. I love everything. I already planted my seeds, gladiolus and iris bulbs. My son helped me and it was alot of fun. My windchime is beautiful hanging by my garden. My son also tried one of the chocolate stirrer sticks and loved it. I will have those in my coffee.Yummy!! We also planted the monarda that you sent and it arrived in very good condition. The basket with the kitty and flowers is so cute that is going on my sunporch. I am going to put the shamrock cling ons on my front door. I just love everything and hope I haven't forgotten anything. Thank you so so very much. Amy

Beannachtam na Feile Padraig! (Happy St. Patrick's Day!)
I raise my orange juice to you all! Slainte! (health)
And now for a maudlin Irish Proverb, 'Tis better to buy a small bouquet, to give to your friend this very day, than a bushel of roses white and red, to lay on his coffin after he's dead.
Or, 'May those that love us, love us. And those that do not love us, may God turn their hearts. And if he can't turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles. That we will know them by their limping.'
I did receive Julie's box today, will post on 3/17 after I open it. Thanks Julie!!!

Received my St. Pat's package today (perfect timing) from Lunamoon.
What a lovely big box full of little green packages.
I got some (green cucumber) handlotion for after I've been digging in the garden, mint chapstick for days like today when the air outdoors is dry (it's even green) and a green fizzy bath bomb for soaking my tired old bones in after gardening. There was some green garden note and printer paper, a green hummingbird windchime, green gardening gloves, gourmet chocolate caramels -yum, shamrock stickers and some magnets.
For the garden I got a big bag of assorted seeds (some from my want list-I love it!), a dahlia, some gladioli corms and a for-get-me not grow kit. Looks like now I'll have to start my spring gardening in earnest. Three days till spring. Happy spring everybody! THANK YOU LUNAMOON.

Well I posted this once but don't think it went thru. I have been having trouble with this computor. I opened my package yesterday from Amy. I had had it quite a while but opened it yesterday as my 3 year old grandaughter was coming up and I let her help me. I received a cute green bag with shamrocks on it I'm sure Amy made it and it was tied with white ribbon. In side a bag of (Lindt)Lindor Truffles, good, 3 receipes on cards, a real pretty card, a cute white picture frame with baby feet on in blue, perfect for my new 4 month old grandson, and last but least was a carrousel to add to my collection. It is 11 inches tall, stairs leading up to the carosuel ,plays let me call you seetheart and is made of copper metal. The first one I have in metal, very neat. Thank you Amy very much, I loved it all and you did a great job. Ann

My package arrived yesterday as I was getting ready to go out to celebrate with friends from work. Perfect timing there Jeanette. I got seeds for green stuff which I'll post on the 12 month seed swap. A pretty card from my buddie with the #1Angel herself on the front.
I Got two green hats one with bangs and braids made of green yarn and a green tophat with sparkly green fringes hanging down. Way Cool. It's perched on top of the lampshade right now. There is a green sleeve for covering be..../er soda cans. A crowd of people are on there and the guy in a green hat says,"what parade, This is the beer line"
I got a variety of chocolates and choc mints. Mmmm good. There were tiny choc cookies that looked sorta like choc chips shape and size but were good crunchy little cookies. Very tasty.
I got toys too. A green "tentacle ball" that lights up and changes colors. Real cute, that is going to work with me next week. A pastel slinky with green in the middle. I have not seen one in years. There is a beautiful pale green Kaleidoscope. Those have been favorites in my family for as long as I can remember. I did not know they were even still being made. Very Pretty, thanks and a big hug. There is a kit called sticker paint. I'm anxious to see what that is all about.
Um?? Did I mention the magnetic soda bottle caps and the note pad for by the phone??
I saved for last, the perfect thing for a snowbound stir crazy Alaskan.... An ornamental grass kit. It contained a peat pellet, grass seed and an instruction booklet. Then once the grass starts growing there is a pair of tiny scissors to keep it trimmed. I'm going to start that tomorrow.
This is quite a haul!! Thanks Jeanette. Sure hope I didn't miss anything but with all that was stuffed into that box I might have.
Carol thanks for being a super hostess. This is one of my favorite swaps of the year.
    BB
