Texas Gardening

Zucchini acting up, Leaf Browning/Yellowing.

They are beating up my onions!

Not really.... This is the second season I have grown black zucchini. I had to hand pollinate last year and it's looking like I may have to again this year. We've had hail and some other bad weather, but the plants have been fairly hardy. I have a plant that is definitely not like the others, and it is ill.

Any ideas?

I'm the first to admit I'm terrible at this. My best guess would be a nitrogen problem. Have you had your soil tested? I always amend stressed plants with a combination of pond/rainbarrel water and LOTS of compost. I'm not always sure of what I'm actually fixing, but so far it's a reliable way to rescue stressed plants. I'd also remove the most affected leaves and trash them.
