Oh those poor birds. They shud have listened to the weather forecast. Out here in the Edmonton area it's been snowing all nite and won't stop till tomorrow. So much for any hope of spring.

We had a good stiff chinook wind blowing here all day yesterday, not a smidgeon of snow left, +14C. Today, very calm, overcast and slightly foggy - stayed below freezing all day but did see another robin on the power line and a gull went wheeling by so Spring migrants are on the move!!!

No robins sightings here, yet. They are late. It has been cold and the ground is still frozen, so that likely has something to do with their tardiness.

Last year, here in Saskatchewan, my brother saw one on March 17. I hope they are smart and stay south for a while. We have tons of snow yet, huge banks. The weather today is brutal - with wind chill it is -28 Celcius and more snow coming. I don't know when we are going to get spring. This snow is going to take forever to melt the way things are shaping up.

well we have plenty of robins here is Detroit, they arrived about a week ago so give them a little time, they're making their way north folks. We had an inch or two of snow this morning but everyone looks fine at the feeders today.

They Winter here, in huge,roving flocks and strip the berries from the Holly trees. Hundreds of them. The Holly is among the most abundant trees here in S. Jersey.
Then a few stay and raise families. All well fed.

Wow, I did not know that they stayed that far north - relatively speaking. I always thought they headed much further south as they predominantly feed on insects, worms etc. while here in the summer. In the fall is when they start feeding on mountain ash and chokecherries before they leave. I didn`t realize berries could sustain them all winter but then, that`s what the Bohemian waxwings fill up on all winter around here.

we see them here in the winter months, too. Not as numerous, but some do stay. But their numbers have increased in the last 2 weeks, so I assume some migrate south.

Robins showed up in my neighborhood this morning. I saw one down the road and one in my yard. This is 12 days later than last year.

Last week, after a brief snow storm, there were a bunch of them on my back fence and three of them in my crabapple tree. They were picking on what berries were left on that tree. It was great seeing them but I too worried a bit due to the amount of snow on the ground.
