Yes! A robin! No, 2 robins!!

OK I'm officially calling it SPRING. Just spotted 2 robins in the back yard. Don't know what they'll eat - there's still 2, almost 3 feet of ice and snow in places out here.

Awww! Poor babies- perhaps if you have dried fruit- raisins, currants, etc. that you can toss out the window might help them? Or for that matter, over-ripe fruits that you'll no longer use would do just fine. When they showed up here, I cut up old apples and they devoured them.

I'm in Iowa, and for the past 2 years Robins have stayed here all winter. Not a whole flock, and they weren't here every day, but enough to tell me they are tougher than we think! And this past winter was the 9th coldest on record.

Thank you for the suggestion of fruits, Surya55. I'll try to feed them next year.

Got another decent pic of Mr/Ms Robin (can we tell them apart?) from my living room window today. All fluffed up, it was still a bit cold this morning ((still snow on the ground)!
