Fledged all 5 nestlings today

Well all 5 of my babies fledged today. No signs of them in the nearby trees but who knows. I put out fresh mealworms and hope Mom and Dad bring them around. Never was sure of the sex of them as I wouldn't open the box after day 10. Though I knew they were there as I could see them through the whole. Tomorrow I will clean out the box in the hopes of a second brood in the coming weeks. I think if they have a successful brood they will be more inclined to use this box again this summer.

    I'm in the same boat as you, mine fledged yesterday and I hope they come back to my yard to visit me. Oh by the way, congrats !!!!!!

    Cool. I'd be willing to bet that mom and dad Blue will be bringing them to the mealworm feeder within a week. In the mean time, listen for them in the trees. While they're often well hidden, you can usually hear them when mom or dad is nearby with food. My last clutch started bringing their young to the feeder after about 5 days. At first the young would wait to be fed.


    But they soon learned how to use the feeder themselves.
