Titmouse roosting
A titmouse is now roosting in my camera house every night. Four days now. During the day she spends a little tme excavating as titmice do. Last year she began excavating in December and then proceeded to build almost the entire nest out of redwood stripped out of the box. They raised five babies that fledged Easter Sunday morning.
So it seems that the nesting process is startng about two months early this year. Naturally I'm thrilled that they chose my camera house and I'll be able to see the whole nesting, birthing and fledging procedure this year on TV.
I'll post still shots every now and then to show their progress. I wish I could post some videos but I cant seem to install the Easy Cap software to capture them. Attached is the sleeping titmouse. Note how she has her head all tucked in her feathers.
