flock of scrub jays

had a large flock of scrub jays come thru this morning. I assume they are moving to lower country. We had a hard freeze here and lots of snow in the mountains.

    dklucius, These birds appear to be Pinyon Jays,Scrub Jays don't usually flock.

    thanks i wonder how they get by because there has been no decent crops of pinyon nuts for 10 years around here.
    Fungus and beetles have killed most of the pinyon trees and
    lots of hard spring freezes have ruined the nuts.
    I guess they have found different substitutes for them
