What's on your Christmas wish list?

My husband keeps telling me he is going to get a pile of manure (well, not the exact word he uses) for me for Christmas, but has yet to follow through with that one. I would like a big pile of compost for my flowerbeds though. I have also asked for rocks to finish up the edging in the front yard. Funny thing is when I was a child the idea of getting rocks meant I was bad and now as an adult I want rocks for Christmas.

So, what are the things (garden related, of course) that are on your Christmas wish list?

I'm wishing for an harbor with bench seating on both sides.
Will I get it.........LOL only if I can find it for cheap like about 200.00 but must be wood....prefer red wood.
DH is not a carpenter and limited to this skill so I don't think it would be a good idea to ask for him to make it.
Never fear thou cause I may give my hand at making it myself. Just need money for material so ask for home depot gift card from my DH :)
I have the book with the design I want, so I'm 1/8 of the way there.

OK, it's not a gardening gift, but my DH got us a Class C RV which is our Christmas gift. And it is hooked up out front in our driveway, and since we live in the country, there are no restrictions on RV's being in driveways. And from now on when we have company, they will have their own little guest house to stay in!

Regarding gardening, well he is always there to unload all my compost, mulch, stepping stones, plants, etc. when I get home from a gardening shopping spree!

I want a greenhouse, a water feature and new beds all the way around the house. I'm more likely to get a lump of coal, lol.

Can't really think of anything that I want or need.

A new wheelbarrow would be nice. But I can fix the old one for another year or two.

    OH!

    Wait!

I know what I want. Some new chainsaw files.

    Wait a second...

    I bought them yesterday.

I don't suppose I really want or need anything.

I'm pretty happy with what I have.

I always want gift cards at Lowes. This year I also asked for something in specific, a red metal wagon with wooden slats. I told them where to buy it and described it in every detail. I just can't wait to see what they buy. lol

    A greenhouse would be wonderful!

Like Trubbadubbadoo, I am pretty happy with what I have. However, if Santa wants to leave me some gift certificates for Chamblee's Rose Nursery, I wouldn't say no. And if there is a load of manure in my future, I'd be grateful. Frankly, I am so happy having a great spouse who understands my gardening passion; being in Texas where one can garden year 'round; and having good soil, that I feel a little guilty asking for anything else!

    Ain't that amusing.

Gardeners are the happiest people in the world.

Other folks want all these shiny electronic doo-dads.

We only want the Doo out of the previous statement.

    Heh-heh.

I'd wish for some flagstone or paving bricks. I need to work on a walkway through my yard. Heck, I'd even be thrilled to get some old used bricks that I have to clean up.

    Just wishing.

Well, if having a 'Christmas Wish List' isn't considered politically incorrect, then all I want is another wet year. Those dry years about broke us down here.

Hauling water to plants and animals, running waterwells constantly...don't want to do that again any time soon.

Merry Christmas, and I hope everyone's wishes come true!

I too am happy with what I have. I'd like some manure, some potting soil, some seeds, bulbs, plants I lust after, a new wagon, perfect weather, rain at the right time.... But mostly I'm just glad I get to garden!

Furniture. The soon-to-be-ex finally got out of my house, took EVERYTHING with him!! Bought a couch, loveseat & chair from Craigslist. My co-workers used their gift exchange to buy me towels, flatware, plates..he really took everything but the bookcases, appliances and the dining room table. Even took ALL the heaters, the toliet paper!!, cleaning products, laundry stuff, DVD player, TV, vacuum cleaner, bar-b-que supplies, food........ Everytime I go to do something I find something else that is missing!! Took my dang chili pot. BAH HUMBUG to him!

Tally, that's awful. Maybe you should get a lawyer to help you get your part of the household items back.

What an awful thing to happen right at Christmas.

The judge can order that he gives it back. The chances of getting it back are about zero. @%%## keeps leaving me nasty notes in my mailbox asking for stuff he FORGOT! HA!
I think it was worth it to get rid of him.

Tally - As you know Texas is community property and you should have been able to keep 50% of it. It is awful how much he took from you - even the toilet paper? Sounds like what one of my bridesmaids did to my in-laws on my wedding day when they were being nasty - she hid the toilet paper! ha! But taking it and leaving you with none is really terrible! I'm glad you have friends who helped you out to get you back on your feet. Good thing you found some used furniture on Craigslist. It is time to pull yourself up by the proverbial boot straps and start anew. A couple other good places to find used furniture, etc. is Goodwill and Salvation Army stores - if you have any of them nearby.

I guess it is a good thing he didn't take the plants from your garden!

Yeah, I can live without furniture, still po'd about the toliet paper though!! If he had taken the plants the war would be on! One good thing, the house is really getting a good cleaning!

Hope ya'll got everything you wanted & the New Year brings the perfect amount of rain, great weekends and NO storms.

Tally, if there are assets other than household furnishings, things like bank accounts, retirement accounts, home equity, you can calculate the value of the items he took & get half of it deducted from his half of the total value of the community property.

Years ago, when my ex moved out, *into an apartment*, he took the heavy-duty orange electric cord that I used for the garden implements.

Was your ex green with a little dog with antlers tied to his head?
    J.D.

Tally, from what all of are thinking he is, he probably needs the toilet tissue more than you ......

Ya'll make me laugh! I think he was green with a big dog with antlers tied to his head. I'm just amazed that he would go to so much trouble to take every single roll, even out of the spare bathroom. And every napkin, paper towel..
We're trying to figure out where he put all the stuff he took since he claims he moved to a garage apartment. Maybe my chili pot will fall & bonk him in the head.
    LOL!
