This big guy/girl flew into the yard this morning, birds scattered everywhere, can you tell me what kind it is?

    He looks like a Cooper's Hawk to me.

    Could be a coopers or perhaps a mature sharp-shinned. They look so alike except for size.

    I am going with Cooper's Hawk. The birds head profile and size in relation that that fence post are clinchers for me on the ID.
