Child's Sellers Cabinet

Has anyone had or seen a child's (or possibly a salesman's sample) kitchen cabinet anywhere? I inherited one from my dad's side of the family and it is from approximately the early 1900's. It was given to his cousin by the Swift family (cattle business) around that time and it is in excellent condition. There is a working flour bin, sugar container, numerous tiny iron skillets and tin pots and pans. The hinges are all original and nothing is broken or replaced. There are 2 little doors with frosted glass in the top of it and the whole thing is in 3 pieces with a tin cabinet top in the middle. If I can figure out how to post a pic, I will. I also have a cast iron Pet stove (child-size, 9"W x 6.5"T x 6" D). Also several tiny pieces of pressed glass for serveware. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Yes, I have seen one or 2....maybe even 3! But they were expensive in their day.....and outta sight now! Lucky you!
Child sized antiques are great! Some little girl was very much indulged!

Actually, lindac, she never even played with it; her family moved to Oregon from Texas for several years right after she got it and by the time they got back, she was too old for it. I adored it and took really good care of it, even as a child, but I have no idea of it's worth at all. I've never been able to show it to anyone and I'm not sure if it's worth insuring or not; and if so, how much? Thanks for the reply!

I don't know how extensive the "equipment"....but if you were to sell it in a well publicized sale, you might see 5 thousand easily.....and that's a conservatice estimate.

There was a "salesman's sample Seller's hoosier cabinet" for sale on eBay several months ago. It was probably the same thing you have. It had a tin work surface rather than the enamel worktop that came on the full size models. I think they were asking $8,000 on eBay but I don't remember whether it sold or not. The one on eBay did not include any miniture cooking utensiles. They sell reproductions of Seller's sales brochures on eBay and you might want to take a look at one of those.
If it's worth more than $5000 I'd sure as heck insure it.

Send a photo if you can -- of the tiny cooking things too. I saved a photo of the one on eBay but I don't know how to add it to this message. Send me an email with your email address and I'll try to send you the photo as an attachment.
