What Vintage Bedroom Furniture Is This?

My wife has to sell her parent's house. In their bedroom is an old set of furniture of the style shown in the photograph. Besides the vanity, there is a chest of (four) drawers and a night stand. There is also a set of twin beds, but they may not belong to the same set. My sister-in-law thinks the chest of drawers is solid maple. On the back is "1940", which appears to have been written with a magic marker. In 1940 he was living at his mom's house until he joined the Navy. He married while on leave in 1942. The couple has been living in their present house since 1947, and this furniture just might have been there from the start.

My wife would like to know what style it is, and how much it's worth. We do have more pictures. Any ideas?

The style looks 1940s. My parents bought a bedroom set ca 1944 and the maple color and corner details are similar.

Definitely 1940s with a definite early Mid-Century Modern flair to it.

Value? Depends on where you are. In some cities, the MCM furniture is selling well, in others it's harder. Check Craigslist for "MCM" bedroom sets and see what local offerings are.

Post pics of the beds, please.

If this is a repeat, please disregard.

Here is a picture of the beds. Now my wife thinks that these are NOT of the same set as the chest of drawers, vanity, and night stand, and when I checked for identifying marks I didn't find any of the chalk numbers I found on the other stuff. We really appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Gee, while I'm at it here is a picture of the chest of drawers. The night stand can be seen between the beds in my previous picture. Again, thanks for your help.

The beds are "Early American" colonial influenced (look at the posts)

... the vanity is definitely a 1930s-50s modern style one.

You'd do better selling them as 2 beds and the vanity separately.
