Looks like Italian toleware to me --
Can't help you on age at all as it's still being made.

Since things that look very like that lamp are still being made, I would try to asess the working parts of it.
The plug looks like it could be from the 1920's at the earliest....unless it has been replaced or switched. Is the cord cloth or plastic coated wire? That also could be a clue...unless it has been replaced.
The style of the lamp looks like it could be sort of "Flapper" style...early 1930's or late 20's.
Does the socket for the bulb give any hints?

hello thanks for the help! the light socket is ceramic, looks original and says made it the usa. the cord, I think is original also. not cloth. I like the lamp. What kind of lamp shade would go with this? A tole metal lamp shade? thank you again. Joseph
