Cardinals, Hollies and Pinecones

DD came through again with some new fun things for my Winter decor. She also brought me some new things I
can use next year for Christmas. I've never seen these individual plate holders before. If I should use them in
a different way, please let me know. I thought they were pretty cute. I used my International Bazaar dinnerware
with them since they have different birds going all the way around them.

Closeup of my kissing angels. Not vintage like Jeanne's but they're fun.

I had bought the blueberries to add to a wreath and never
got around to using them so added them to the hollies. I
used blue trees, flatware and glassware to try to give more
of a winter feel to the new decor. I have 3 sets of these Pfaltzgraff Winterberry Cardinal S & P shakers
that I picked up on clearance for $1 each.

Closeup of the new winter lantern I received as a Christmas gift from DFamily. This picture doesn't do
it justice but you can kinda see the pinecones on the
glass sides I hope. I added frosted blueberries to help blend it in with the blue theme too.

Here's the winter china cab. redecorated to match the table. Used more of the holly
and cardinals. I have
two different sizes and I think 16 total. Might offer
to share them to use for the fireman's banquet this
winter. I left the silver and red trees out in case I
wanted to use them for Valentine decor. Also added white
and silver birds.

It's cold here. Last night we had freezing rain so I
skated home. We had company most of the day so was able
to stay in for all but a couple hours. I had to run to
the office and do some year end books.

Hope you stay warm and safe.

Everything looks so nice and festive, Punk. Great way to keep the color of Christmas going and the house decorated. I love cardinal stuff as you know.

Be careful on ice, walking or driving. We need you here.
    ;o)

Thanks PM. Have you gotten everything put away and redone for winter? So true about walking on ice. DH just stepped out of the vehicle the other day and went down. I could hear him but couldn't see him till I walked around. All he had to say was please move so I can get up! His arm is a little black and blue but otherwise ok. Thank goodness.

Oh so many pretty 'Cardinals' & such a great combo w/the Holly & the blue 'icy' accents you've chosen! (blueberry touches looks so pretty...like January!) Those plate holders are very unique...love 'em ...but I've never used one before either ...I sure love how you added those 'bird plates' to them! Kissin' angels are adorable! & how you framed them by looking thru the plate holder!!! A++++

All of this set against your white t'cloth is beautiful & adding the basket-weave chargers ...looks great, punk! Ohhh & I am tickled to see your white wood lantern...exactly what I've been keeping my eye out for! This one is perfect!!!

Your china cabinet is gorgeous, as always! Sparkly trees & birds (always #1 in my book ...birds) ...just so beautiful! TFS! I hope TJ will be joining the Winter festivities soon! ;-) TFS! Jeanne S.

Punk, everything looks great as always. I LOVE the lantern find! and your loaded china cabinet is just beautiful.

I've never seen anything like your 'plate holders' -- they look like they are completely open on the bottom. Other than being decorative, could they have been the framework for netting to keep bugs away from the food when eating outdoors?

Jeanne and Party, thanks so much for all the sweet comments. I really don't know what the purpose of the bird and hollies was designed for. DD found them at a Christmas store and said they looked liked something I would like.haha I took the lantern off the buffet and put it against the wall to give you a better picture of it.

Jeanne, I'll share some pictures of what TJ's been up to.LOL

Thanks again for all the comments.

This is a wonderful table, Punk. The plate holders are so unusual and are perfect for your table.
Those kissing angels are so sweet!
Using the blue stemware adds Icy sparkle.
I love your new lantern too!
You do such a great job decorating your china cabinet
I love the white birds (doves?) and cardinals.
I am glad you made it home safe and sound!!

Thanks Nana. I've learned one can bring out the birds any time of year since I joined Holidays. I just remembered I have a blue paper mache one from Michaels I need to bring out and put by the lantern. I think one of my goals for the new year will be to keep all my goodies more organized.haha

We don't have alot of fog and freezing rain but it's never a good thing. Thanks for caring.

Glad your DH was okay? Those falls can be dangerous. All your things look so festive and fun. Lots of greenery and florals along with all your cardinal goodies. Those plate holders are very unique. Your DD is so sweet to be on the lookout for pretty decorating things for you. Luvs

Ohhh...now you did it, punk! That lantern ...you do know that my 'name' is 'jeannespines' don't you! LOL! Absolutely love it! Wonderful gift from your DFamily! ;-) Jeanne S.

Luvs, yes DD is wonderful always buying me things to decorate with. The sad part is she is not into that for herself. However, DGD loves all of it and I always tell her one day it will be hers!

Jeanne, I do know what your NAME is!!!LOL I will ask DD where she found it. I will be meeting her to sign paperwork as soon as I get this dye off my hair.HA I'm sure the only reason she bought that particular one is because I'm always wanting pine cone garland and dishes that is more than I want to spend. She forgets to be frugal when it comes to shopping for me.LOL

Beautiful!! But, then again, cardinals are my favorite! Love the plate holders and your dishes. And I LOVE the lantern with the painted pine branch on it...very pretty!

    Ditto!!

Thanks Marlene and Candy for the comments. I stopped at Walmart and picked up some blue and silver trees @ 75%off tonight that I will add to my winter decor. Also a few red and wht things I can use for Valentines Day decor. Bought some ornaments and brown and silver clip on poinsettias. Thinking ahead for next year with them. Was hoping to find something for the outside Valentine tree but that didn't happen. I'm sure things will be out by this weekend.

Jeanne, DD thought she bought the lantern at TJ Maxx or Tuesday Mornings but wasn't positive. I've never seen one like it but will keep my eye out and let you know if I see any.

Thanks, punk! I've been looking & watching for a good price on a white wood lantern (not a huge one either) ... this one w/pine cones is beautiful! I'll ck my TJMaxx but I bet there hasn't been one there or I would have spotted it Christmas shopping! LOL! So I'll enjoy seeing yours, anyway! TFS! Jeanne S.

I'm crazy about that lantern. And it looks like I'm not the only one.

I'm thinking you can put a cake in the plate holder and it would turn your dessert into a centerpiece. Ooo. Maybe not. You might have to put it in and then frost it. I can't tell what kind of room you have there.

    Happy New Year. OA
