Comments (4)we've decided to redo the entire kitchen - the lower cabinets were just not worth saving and the overall layout was awkward. Since we can't save the granite, we plan to use quartz countertops - not the cheapest choice but I'll find ways to save money elsewhere. I'm still waiting for quotes to know the full cost. We met with several kitchen designers but ultimately came up with the best plan ourselves using ikea software. Comments (2)Sure...just be sure you have space under cabs for coffee maker,toaster,etc. I have a friend who is under 5 feet tall and she had two cabinets made to touch countertop...like a hutch where she kept things used daily. Rest of cabs were standard 18" so she could fit the coffee maker and blender( she uses it daily for smoothies:). Comments (14)HI -- I think if you need the storage , then yes . Open shelves just become cluttered if your using them for storage and not just for display . Maybe if you tiled around the cabinets and backsplash in something shiny and reflective like some mirrored tiles ....See Morehendricus
