Brown Bunnies & Such vs. Spring Weather

Well, had to split my day between decor'ing inside or playing in the beautiful Spring weather outside! So here's my "brown bunnies" I've collected the last couple yrs (from specialty shops) & they like my GM's old treadle sewing machine in the LR:

The egg basket is a GS find & so are the wooden eggs...the houseplant (LIVED!) over the winter in the spare room so it will go outside when it warms up!...the pottery planter a great TS bargain!

Here's a vertical pic with the bunnies under the lamp...

Just this past week I bought "big mama brown bunnie" & she is residing on the buffet at the moment...I'm still working on this...would like to make a green checkered table runner & also may dig out the chicken wire cloche from my Fall storage tub in the garage...ugh! It may cover up the hen & chicks! But this is where I'm at so far...I tried a couple diff runners & went back to this off-white one I use in winter:

side view:

Close-up of Mama Bunny: (a bit blurry)

And a new poster print (from HLobby 50% off) I just framed last week:

The pitcher beside the print is one of my most prized possessions passed on to me from my DM. The markings on the bottom say "leadless glaze Langley M-England 1 Quart." My DMom's Grandpa's sister, gave my Mom this pitcher about 1938. My DM thinks it came over from Denmark & gave me this pitcher to keep in the family in 2003 when she had terminal cancer. This is the info I have on a note inside the pitcher. This pitcher also usually resides on a shelf in BR...but Holiday-ers around here having me movin' stuff all over! LOL!

Did get to spend a few afternoon hours outdoors...a beautiful (unusual) 60 deg! Cleaned up the yard some & composted leaves but had a fire, too...here's a pretty pic: (makes me want to go camping!)

I'm feeling kind of bad that I didn't try a St. Paddy...so since I'm leavin' on vacation soon...here's the best I can do for this yr...next yr will dig out some "green!"

HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY, early! Thanks for lookin'! Jeanne S.

Your brown bunnies are SO pretty. And I really like how you did the vignette with them on the treadle table. Those eggs in the basket are a perfect touch.

I'm glad you got play outside finally. Know you've missed it a lot.

OK, I'm liking the brown bunnies more and more, those are especially nice, displayed with the eggs. I like the white table runner, I think the fluffy texture lends itself to Spring. Your DM pitcher looks great with your print. I'm glad you finally got some Spring type weather. You and my DH would get along great, we are going on our first camping trip of the year this weekend and DH has already loaded the truck with a pile of firewood. We have a fire if it's 20 degrees or 95 degrees and DH does most of the cooking on it.

Jeanne, your brown bunny collection is darling! Do you keep them out most of the year?

Thanks, gals! lynn...I do leave the little brown bunnies out for a couple mos. & then switch back to photographs on the treadle machine. They are ceramic-like & when I say "specialty store," I just mean like gift shops or such...they are not my regular TS, GS or GW finds! But you got to splurge once-in-a-while, right! like finding glass purple dishes on e-bay, PM!) LOL!

frou...we do the same as your DH ... 20 or 95 deg., a campfire is a must! :-) Jeanne S.

Very nice vignette with the little brown bunnies, they are so cute. (I mostly have white bunnies--until recently when a special friend gifted me with a darling plate and some little brown bunnies to go with it!) I'll share mine after the St. Pat's decor is stashed away. That is just so neat that you have that special pitcher. Love those kinds of stories about family keepsakes! Love the little hen and chicks too--I think they would look great in your wire cloche--sorry you have to go dig for it though! Thanks for sharing your pretties.

So many lovely things and arranged beautifully! Your brown bunnies are such a different look to the white/pastel ones - very natural look. The wooden eggs are perfect with them and the lampshade also. I really like the top of your sewing machine, I've never seen one like that. Very pretty vignette.

Your new print is kinda like a 'yard-long' - very pretty and perfect for the shelf. Nice to have a family heirloom like the pitcher.

My DH has been doing clean-up outdoors and having fires also when it's not too windy. We also have campfires when camping and bring our own wood.

Cute St. Paddy's day vignette - where did you get that frame?

    Have a great vacation, Jeanne!

The little brown bunnies are adorable!! , I just love them.
They look right at home in your beautiful vignette.
What a special treasure in your Moms pitcher and the print goes sooo well with it.
I love the fire pic with the deer reflecting to.

Isn't getting out in the dirt great? I've started doing a bit of it myself and after the long winter, it's such a nice feeling.
DH is flying off to CA on business Monday so I'm contemplating what I can tear up to damper my anxiety while he's gone. LOL
Hope you have a great vacation!!

Jeanne, I love the pitcher your DM passed on to you. So glad your popsting here so we can all enjoy it. The print looks nice beside it.

Your brown bunnies are darling and you always display so well. You do need to spoil yourself whenever you can. I say if you can afford it, then buy it and enjoy.

Enjoyed your fire burinig picture and the rim is great. Did you and DH make that? I thought your eggs were marble. They are beautiful and I would of never guessed they were wooden.

Thanks for all the details and truly enjoyed your pictures.

Wow. Jeanne, I just love everything that you collect and put together! I wish you would decorate for me! :)

    Thanks, holiday-ers!

luvs..lookin' forward to seeing your Spring decor!

luckygal...the Paddy day frame is from my photo software, Microsoft Photo Suite...I'm so thrilled the software works with Windows 7 ...cause I thought I was doomed as it wouldn't work with DH's Vista!

MM...yes, my fav is getting in the dirt! LOL! Can't uncover though...suppose to maybe snow this weekend & cool freezin' temps again...and Sat. is 1st day of Spring! Darn ol' weather!

punk & party...*blush*...thank U...and the fire ring is metal & bought it after season at Menards...really like it...had seen some up in MN last yr while camping.

purplemoon!!! Yeah, one setting of purple dishes! You did it! LOL! Jeanne S.

Love your vignettes...very sweet! I noticed the vase behind your brown bunny on your sideboard... I have one exactly like it. It is one of my very fav vases. I don't know any of its history though...can you tell me anything about that particular vase?
The weather here is absolutely perfect... I'm loving playing in the dirt! Not sure I could survive the cold snowy winters lol! Ya'll do inspire me though with your wonderful tablescapes and so many really terrific ideas. I'm hard put to know whether I want to play with my dises or dig in the dirt!

Your brown bunnies are wonderful! I like how "natural" looking they are. They seem more versatile than just Easter decor and you could have them out throughout the year. I like your St. Pat's Day effect on the last pic!

Thanks, bluesyblue...that planter behind the Mama bunny is Royal Copley ivy pottery planter...if you Google it, you may get some history on your pc...I think this one is from the 50's-60's ..but I recently purchased some pcs. the last few yrs...I like the creamy color & the ivy pattern.

    Thanks, DD.

Luvs...I dug out the wire cloche & here's some pics...I also bought some fabric to make a table runner...I just put the fabric under it for the pic...that will come later...now I've added a few eggs since the pic...I do like the wire cloche! Here's a pic:

Here you can see the wooden hen better...she is a HLobby find some yrs. back...I think the fabric will look better than the white braided runner:

And here's some porch table Spring-y decor I worked on yesterday...a nesting bunny ... an old, old clothespin doll made by a friend in late 80's & enamel pot & teakettle, old blocks & a couple marble eggs:

    another view:

Spring has sprung! But, @@@@****, snow in the forecast for tomorrow night! Ugh! Jeanne S.

Ahhh, I forgot to add 1 more pic...this is my counter ledge in the kitchen ... I got this Goebel egg (W. Germany) 1979 at an antique store in town last mo...I thought the little duck was cute...I see on e-bay one listed for $12 + shpg...got this one for $6...hope it doesn't turn into a collection! LOL!

The pitcher I found 2 yrs. ago & loved the color...and the Easter card from my DD last yr...white bunny from HL...already showed you but now it's been glued ... I knocked it off & broke it's ears that holds a placecard! Ugh! Thanks for lookin! Jeanne S.

I love your wire cloche and the chickens are so perfect for it.
Love your yellow pieces and the green pitcher to.
I've come to accept my easter decor is going to look very odd/sparse without being able to put the grass under it (thx c-a-t).LOL

I don't think i've ever seen little brown bunnies like those and they're absolutely adorable!! You really outdid yourself with all the cute spring vignettes~love the wire cloch w/hen and chicks! You've been very busy, but it was worth it. Thanks for sharing! ;o)

Another wonderful Easter decor!!! The forum doesn't change and is still full of extremely creative persons!

Love the cloche and also the print: so Spring-y!!!

Jeanne, sweet! I could look at pictures all night. Love to see all the neat things that come out here. Those are some old blocks huh? I know because I had some just like them years ago....

Love your wire cloche and I think your new material will look great with it. Such a nice choice.

Sorry, but I laughed so hard when I read "white bunny from HL...already showed you but now it's been glued ... I knocked it off & broke it's ears that holds a placecard! If I could change the fact it broke I wouldn't of laughed but since I can't, I'm still laughing the way you stated it. I had such a long day at work and am probably just overly tired! However, I'm still thinking it's funny the way you put it.

Oh, BOT, I love your pitcher and egg. Sweet that you still have the Easter card from DD last year to use. Thanks and sure glad your here all the time with a great sense of humor.

Those brown bunnies are so sweet! The only brown bunnies I have seen are the kind you eat!
I love all your displays, and I agree that pitcher is a lovely color!
You are all ready for Spring!

Jeanne, the addition of that wonderful wire cloche of your's is just perfect! I love that cloche, it makes anything you put inside look even better! Totally agree with you on the pretty fabric you found, nice spring color will look great with that display.

I have never seen yellow enamelware! That is so pretty--and it's great that you thought to use it with your Easter decor. Gorgeous color on the pitcher and card--and I'm so sorry about bunny's accident! We would never have known if you hadn't told us--at least you were able to "put him back together again".

Did you use zap a crack? I remember Tam using that on a badly mailed bunny. Came out great!

    Oh Jeanne..
I love how you decorated everything...it's all so lovely.
I'm partial to 'Brown Bunnies' too. They have that 'old fashioned' look to them, of Easter's from long ago.

Jeanne, that wire cloche is just the neatest thing to decorate with. Its sure perfect for your Hen and chicks!
I might need to watch for a wire cloche when I hit the antique mall next time, as I have a feeling that might be only place I'd see one around here. Yours looks OLD to me, just an other reason its so appealing.

    hugs, Karen

I'm so glad I checked this thread again - looove your chicken wire cloche!!! I expect you bot yours but I found instructions on the 'net how to make a round one. It's on my very long 'to-do' list. Love your other vignettes also, the blocks look very cute. Good idea to use the enamel pots - nice spring color.

I really like your chicken wire cloches, Jeanne! I've never seen any like that before!
