It is my understanding that once the acrylic has yellowed there is nothing you can do to whiten them again.

Is it possible to get replacement parts and find a way to protect them from the sun?

Thanks for your help, Casey! The jet covers are plastic not acrylic like the tub so we are hoping to find something. The cleaning stuff the store sold us is working some but slowly. We have a glassblock window which it is suppose to let in light to the bathroom but we may have to cover it with a shade if we keep having trouble with the jets. casey is right. Once the plastic has yellowed you cannot "clean" it.

Do you know how to remove the jets? We have a jacuzzi brand tub. Can I do it in please with the developer and use a UVLight? Thanks for your help!

Removal of jets varies by brand. Google the internet and you'll likely find what you need. If the tub is older and hasn't been cleaned in a long time, you may have to fill it up with hot water to cover the jets and let it stand in order to soften any debris that might be locking the jets in place. I did that and added a couple of dishwasher tablets to the water. Worked like a charm. Once mine were in the plastic bag, I put them in a window to bleach and it worked even on an overcast rainy day. I wouldn't bother with the UV light.

Thank you so much Alice! I have tried the 40 Volume Cream Developer & it worked!!!! It did take a full day in the sun, however (my whirl pool tub is 22 years old though!). I also tried your trick to loosen the jets, too! Thanks so much for the advice! You saved me several hundred dollars!

Can I use this method without removing the jets from the acrylic tub if I tape off tub? I have a sun lamp I can point at jets after I use the Salon Care and cover with plastic wrap.

I used the crepe developer multiple times and it worked but each time the yellow quickly returned.

Sometimes, I use automobile polish on my fiberglass tub and buff it once it's dry. Perhaps a coat of autto wax buffed with a soft dry cloth will slow up the yellowing.

can you just paint them? if so what type of spray paint would you use? thanks

I just had this problem and tried everything I watched on YouTube with NO luck! Even 40 volume didn’t work!!! I suggest go online and buy new ones or possibly paint them (they unscrew)

The 40 volume formula hack worked on my 16 year old jacuzzi tub discolored jets. It took 3 days in the sun but it worked!!!!

Call me crazy, but I used a pumice stone and it worked. Next time I’m trying the 40 volumne cream developer. Might be a little less scrub work..😁 Thanks for the suggestions.
