I had a hard-wired lighted magnifying mirror in the house we lived in 15 years ago. Since then I've had a lighted magnifying mirror sitting on the vanity. When I re-do the bathroom, I am planning to have a wall-mounted magnifying mirror.

The wall-mounted mirror in the previous house came from Bed, Bath and Beyond, as did the current free-standing one.

The advantages are:
- good light and magnification to see all those imperfections
- you can mount it to the perfect height for YOU
- it frees up counter space (for all the extra products you are going to need correcting the imperfections you can now see oh-so clearly)

I wonder if LED wouldn't be odd colored light for putting on make up.

I have a lighted magnified makeup mirror on the wall, but never actually use the light because it creates a halo around the pupils of my eyes which kind of freaks me out and is distracting. I would question if the LED lights would be good for applying makeup.

Loved my wall mount magnifying light up mirror in the last house--also bought at Bed Bath & Beyond. Currently have a freestanding one but preferred the wall mount because it didn't take up valuable counterspace. I think the one I have now has the LED and I don't have any problems with it.
