Christmas in July Tablescape Event

I'm hosting a Christmas in July Tablescape Party on my blog, Playing Dishes. I thought it would be fun to have a party here too to feature some holiday tables. If you don't have a blog and want to participate in the blog party, let me know and I will do a post of all the tables with links to your photos. Here is a link to the info about the party:

http://playingdishes.blogspot.com/2009/07/christmas-in-july-tablescape-party-2.html

I have set Saturday at midnight for the cutoff time each week. That will allow four entries over the month, ending on July 25. Each entry will provide you with a chance in the giveaway drawing for a Christmas tablecloth. It will be given away on the morning of July 26.

I will post a photo of the tablecloth tomorrow. July 22 is my birthday, so what better way to celebrate it!

I know this is late, but several of us were talking on the other boards about having a table this first weekend. I know that you wonder table divas have photos that you can post from the past.

OMG . . . are you serious :~0??? I need to go take a look. I'll admire from afar, though, as there is no way I can bend my brain around doing a Christmas table now. I just can't ;^D. I've spent the past almost two weeks lazing on the beach in Michigan and hitting the town's fun shops with my sisters. I'm more geared up for beach tables, but am anxious to see anyone's Christmas in July table. This should be interesting! I can't even imagine what you've come up with this time, PD!

PD, that sounds like a fun idea. Like Lynn though, I am going to have to admire the lovely tables you all put together. I cant think of Christmas now and besides, I think DH will check me into a facility if I start unpacking Christmas things now. :)

Same here, PD, all the Christmas things are packed away and it's just too big a job to pull them out. I'll be sure to stop by your blog and see all the pretty tables of others however. Thanks for thinking of us. Luvs

I am just seeing this now, PD..I will play, thanks for the invite..
So I do a post between now and Sat for this week?

Kathleen, will you post here or on your blog? I will post mine here if people here want me to do so. I have figured out Mr. Linky on the blog and will have it up on Friday with a post called CIJ Tablescapes #2. Just let me know. I have had numerous people comment with plans to join this week.

I drove to a friends florist about 20 minutes away (in Oklahoma) to pick up a floral arrangement for Larry's service. I like to use her and she couldn't get it here until late in the day since it wasn't local for her. I stopped by Goodwill on the way and picked up a set of snowman stoneware for $8. They were new in the box and I needed a pick me up at that point. It also let me have another option without having to dig for dishes. I have three other sets or partial sets of snowmen, but I liked these from GW.

I just thought this would be a fun event. I opened it up to one each Saturday so that people could join when they had time. Hopefully there will be several posts each week. I will have a different one each week, but they will be more whimsical and nothing fancy.

Printer, I hope to be able to do at least one CIJ table. It sounds like such fun. Of course, the hard part is digging out the Christmas pretties but I will see what I can do.

I just started a blog as I couldn't stand not being able to participate in Tablescape Thursday! I am already finding it time consuming but am hoping that is more because I'm still learning all the in's and out's of it. I would be happy to post on your blog as well as here if that is okay.

    Thanks,

The more the merrier. I'd love to have everyone from here participate. I also like the idea of posting here, too, so everyone can see all the pretties. I am doing pretty generic tables since everything is all packed up except my snowmen dishes. I am not pulling out my china for a special Christmas Day type table until the real season.

Deb, thanks for the link. What is your address of the blog?

DD, glad to know you have started a blog, too. It does get easier. I like to play on on the weekly things, but that is so time consuming.

To me the hardest part of this CIJ Tablescape Party is keeping track of all the comments, people who are following, etc. for my weekly drawings on my Christmas blog and the names for the big July 25 tablecloth drawing on Playing Dishes. Sheesh, it is work!

Jaybird my blog Playing Dishes is at: http://playingdishes.blogspot.com

My holiday blog Christmas Memories in My Heart is at:
    http://printersdevil72.blogspot.com

I am posting frequently on Christmas Memories this month, but will just post on Rudolph Day on the 25th of each month after July until Thanksgiving weekend.

I'd like everyone's blog address, too. Can they be added to our info on the profile here?

I dont think we are allowed topost our craft boards here..i have my in my my page if anyone wants to see it

Okay, after saying I wouldn't participate, I realized that I do have some Christmas plates not packed in storage. So I searched all over the house for other things I could use on a table with them and have managed to create a red/white table to post for your event.

Do you want us to post here, or do you want a new separate post just for the tables so you can post a link in case anyone from your blog wants to come here to look?

I won't be able to come up with four tables, but at least you're getting one from me!

Were you here at Christmas time? We sure had allot of nice tables posted for our Flake challenge. You can see them in some of our old posts, or maybe Karen has even gathered them in the tablescape album.

PD, I will include it in a blog post, that way you will get some traffic from it to your blog..
And of couse we should do a thread here so that everyone can join in...
If we are not selling anything on our blogs I can't see why we couldn't link it..
DD welcome to the blogging world! I was so happy to see your TTH post there with PD's too!

I dont have a blog, yet, just a craft board as stated above, and my members are allowed to post their wares for sale....

Deb, email me you url for the board if you want to participate in the CIJ Tablescape. Or, check out Mr. Linky on my post later today on my Playing Dishes blog. I think that you can post a permalink directly to that site. Be sure to use the address that goes directly to the post about the table and not just your main web address. I'm glad that you are joining us.

Be sure to post your pictures here too, so the non bloggers will get to see them. Some prefer looking here instead of going to the blogs. I also love the personal comments from all of us.

I DONT THINK I WILL HAVE TIME TO DO A TABLESCAPE, BUT I SOOOO LOVE LOOKING AT EVERYONES HERE..SO CUTE! It sounds like lotsa fun, but I doubt I have what it takes to make it so nice....at this point in time, all of my extra time and money goes right back into my restaurant just to keep my girls working.....whew, what a job that is! LOL
    Thanks for the invite
