illustrator query

I have this one last illustration that I'm trying to export to windows unsuccessfully. I don't know what the problem is but maybe one of you smart folk may if I break it down..

In Illustrator I choose

FILE>EXPORT

BMP

SAVE

CMYK

RES 72 PPI

ANTI-ALIASING

then I open word

DOC

INSERT>PICTURE>FILE

and then I get a pop-up that says

COULD NOT WRITE THE FILE BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MEMORY AVAILABLE...

If I save at the prompt BITMAP instead of CMYK

I get a file error message

Logicly I would assume I don't have enough mem-but I have been freeing space and am able to export other illustrator docs

Anyone have any ideas????????

Not familiar with Illustrator but there might be a couple of options to consider. If you are using Windows 98 reboot and try because W98 is very poor at returning memroy to the pool after closing a program, especially with Word.

How large is the image you are trying to exprot? It has 72 DPI but if it is huge you might want to reduce the size and try exporting it to Word then.

BMP's can be huge files. Open the picture file in Paint and save it as a .jpg file.
