Blessings of Christmas

Ok, I really hesitated about posting this table. I've been planning it since I bought the salad plates about two months ago. Then night before last I saw Susan's table using village houses on her blog. I couldn't believe it! If you're like me and love to look at her tables, I swear I didn't intentionally copy her idea of using a house! LOL!

Anyway, here it is. The inspiration for the table was these salad plates from Marshalls. They are made by Spode and are called Blessings of Christmas. The print is Thomas Kinkade.

The white china and stemware both have a gold band around the edge. Gold flatware and white napkins with gold napkin rings completed the setting. After I took the photos and looked at them, I decided to place the sherbets with the ornaments in them on top of the bread/butter plates. I like the way this looks much better and the ornaments are more easily seen. I really need to take some more photos now that I've moved them.

I tried to recreate the Thomas Kinkade picture on the salad plates in my centerpiece.

Rover patiently waits on the porch for the family to bring in the tree. He can't wait until it's all decorated so he can curl up under it and nap.

One last shot of the table.

DG, that is a GORGEOUS table! Those plates are exquisite, and perfect for a Village scene table. I saw the one on the blog too...and tho you didn't copy her idea, I'm betting YOU and she will be inspiring others to do Village tables. Its neat to see folks do that I think, because none really look alike anyway. Sharing ideas is what its all about to me.

I've got to get off my butt and get photos in our Inspiration albums, I have a bunch filed and just haven't taken the time to get them in. I promise to do so soon.
DG, yours is one of them of course.

    hugs, Karen

I saw the one on the blog too, but your's is not a replica of it--your's is unique and goes beautifully with your new dishes. Love how you used the faux snow, and your centerpiece house is so pretty, and the whole scene is darling. Luvs

    I haven't seen Susan's table..but I know I'm
    loving yours.
Those dishes are so pretty and all the little details
too. The little house and figures are just perfect for those dishes.
I love your chargers. They really set off your plates beautifully.

Those plates are to die for. You know me, I would have to hang them on the wall. The whole table is lovely. How clever to copy the scene.

Very nice! Where did you get those chargers, they are georgeous!! I want some too!!

Thanks everyone! I was really pleased with how this one turned out. The last two tables were red and green, so I was ready for a change in color. For the past several years, most of my Christmas tables were done in pinkÂyaÂll inspired me to branch out with other colors this year and IÂm having such a good time playing around with them.

Gardener, I bought the chargers online about 2-3 years ago. IÂll have to see if I can find the websiteÂcanÂt remember the name of it right now. I do remember that they also came in silver.

    Dream...
I hope you find the info on those Chargers..
    I would love some too.
Looking at your table again, it looks like a
    Winter Wonderland! So lovely.

DG, your table is totally enchanting! I love, love, love the plates! Even tho I'm not a huge fan of Kinkade it makes a wonderful tablesetting. The color of the tablecloth, the chargers, and even the doggie are just perfect!

Ah, that is one beautiful table! I had seen those dishes in the store when they came out, I so loved them! But I am running out of space here (finally). I am glad that I am able to see them used so nicely by you. I love the house included, it fits in perfectly with the dishes. I have a collection of cream and gold houses, and have used them in my setting and around my tree, they are really versatile, and I love the tiny light they put out. Again, well done.

Since I'm in a posting mood I couldn't pass up telling you how much I LOVE this tablesetting! The dishes are beautiful (so wish I could find some!!) and the Christmas village centerpiece is wonderful. I saw yours before coming across the blog post and anyway I was inspired and used your idea to do my table too. (I know, it would be nice of me to post pics, hopefully I can).
Thank you so much for sharing this! I just love it.
