What color is your toilet

I am interested in the the Toto Ultramax. How do I select the correct color? Do I match the trim in the bathroom which will be white? Do I match the tile which may be white or beige? Or would I match the countertop. Personally, I'd like a bright white toilet, but my countertop may be dark if I go with a beige tile or it may be a carerra marble so the white would match that.

Advice would be appreciated. Thank you. :)

I have always gone with a white toilet myself but I tend to like light, bright colors.

I went with white also - goes with everything and won't become dated.

I don't think anyone "matches" their trim, tile or counters with their toilets. Can't go wrong with white :)

Another vote for white....As has already been said, it goes with everything and won't look dated a few years down the road....If the room needs more "pop," use brightly-colored bathmats and towels as accents.

white, white and the new one is....white. It's the perfect color for bathroom fixtures.

LoL - thank everyone. Just to doublecheck is cotton white or colonial white the whiter white of the Toto brand?

We just remodeled with beige tile, white vanity, dark countertop, and a white toilet looks great with that arrangement.

I have to say, this photo from HGTV is making me rethink stark white. I'm guessing this is Sandbar, maybe Biscuit?

Here is a link that might be useful: Beige Fixtures?

I am big on white, but we ended up with one biscuit toilet and one (new shade) almond toilet. The biscuit is actually way too light in our room with copper, teal, black and oil rubbed bronze - wish we had gone to a sandbar or almond.

The room with the almond toilet is nice against a rustic ivory travertine floor. We initially ordered biscuit there, but found the sinks were a little deeper in color and switched to almond. You cannot see them in the same view so not sure it mattered.

well, in our master bath we are absolutely NOT going with white. it would look too stark (and almost "cheap") next to our hammershell tile backsplash, walnut wood/stone plaid floors, bronze metallic ceiling and crystal chandelier. vanity is stained alder. our air tub is bisque and the toilets are toto sedona beige. everything is really creamy in there. dated? no way. designed? very.

the other bathrooms will have cotton white toilets.

It all depends on other aspects of the area. Our MBR has ivory colored trim and we carried the ivory into the master bath by having those undertones in the granite and in the tile. Stark white would have looked awful. We went with the Sandbar Kohler tub and sink and can't remember which of the Toto colors was the closest match for that.

On the other hand if you had white undertones in your counter, flooring etc then white would be the way to go and ivory would look icky. There's no right or wrong here!

We just got our new Toto Ultramax and we got the Cotton White, which is the whiter of the two colors.

There is a reason to use Cotton White or colonial white- if its in a room with a bathtub or white pedestal sink- ask your toto guy which one will match better. IE We went with a American Standard White pedestal sink and i was told Colonial White would match American Standard better. Hope that helps (and yes we went with white)

Ok, I am putting in all white but will just add this tid bit of knowledge, in ref to shades of beige, when you get into all these fancy shades of beige, almond, biscut... when it comes time to replace the toilet seat it is not going to be easy to match. Not all builder supply stores stock all shades.

I've decided on biscuit for our bathrooms (white hex tile, cream tiles, fir wood.) White looked too stark next to it. The biscuit actually reads as white, at least when all the samples are lined up.

Just wanted to say that I saw Sandbar in person the other day and it is a gorgeous color.
