I was told parts are made in Korea and then the manufacturing takes place in Turkey? It is all too confusing. I know that Bosch cooking appliances are made in the USA down South.
I have been getting good pricing from Lakesappliances.com. Alot of appliance stores are still recommending SubZero rather than Thermador or Bosch for refrigeration. Where are you located?

I'm looking to buy either the Bosch integra or Freedom towers too. I would also like to know the differences. The sales rep told me that they are virtually the same except Bosch doesn't have the eletronic adjusters that are on the Freedom shelves. She said they are both made at the same factory. I was able to see the integra freezer at a MA showroom. However, it was not plugged in, so I couldn't see the halogen lights etc. I want to say that the Freedom is definitely a little nicer, but it also costs a little more. The Bosch still had nice thick hinges and looked almost exactly the same. I think that there was something a little different about the lighting between the two if I recall correctly. If you find out any other information, please post it on this thread.

As far as i can tell, Gaggenau, Thermador, and Bosch are essentially the same units. The differences come in that Gaggenau has a stainless interior, Gag and Thermador have an electrically adjustable shelf. Bosch is a littel lower on the amenities scale with a plastic interior and no adjustable shelf but otherwise looks similar to me. Miele is also coming out with units based on the same box but a Miele sourced interior

When you say the Bosch had a plastic interior, which parts are plastic compared to the non-plastic of the Bosch?

p.s I found a teeny picture of the Bosch (I think) but again, the crisper drawers look like the Thermador (which is good) but on the Bosch site, the crisper looks different with the controls on the right.

If I could afford SubZero's I'd probably do that but I'm also trying to fill a 24" space which limits me. I'll probably get an extended warranty.

I called Bosch USA and the very helpful associate did not know where they were made. Probably Turkey. My sales guy (small mom and pop store) doesn't normally doesn't carry Bosch fridges and probably assumed they were made with their other appliances in the US

I've only seen the Thermador, which I was planning on getting until I saw this pic of the Gaggenau.
Also in my area I'm not finding the price of the Bosch and the Thermador to be different.

That looks very much the same as the Thermador. I suspect the shelves and interior pieces may be plain or trimmed in white plastic instead of stainless, but maybe not. The sides of the door shelves are solid white instead of the dark plastic frame around glass. And it looks like the butter keeper above may have one door where mine has 2 -- but this is a 24" and I have the 30", so that could be the difference also.

As for the Freedom shelf, I don't really use it and don't care about it. Kind of like buying a car, it's one of those things that came with the package. You wouldn't be losing anything by not getting that in my book.

Jen, we were typing at the same time. The Gaggenau looks nice too. I'm not sure I'd pay more for stainless -- I relaly like the clean white withthe stainless trim just fine. I din't have any option though.

What I was seeing online recently was about $300 less for Bosch. If they are the same, I'd get the Thermador.

Love the gaggenau too but very $$$ here in Canada.
The Thermador is at $500+ more here than the bosch.

I forgot to ask my sales guy, is there a trim kit that i need to purchase for the door panel?

I meant the entire interior, wall etc. Gaggenau has stainless walls, shelves etc, Bosch is th normal white plastic interior similar to Sub Zero etc.

I'll have to check out prices on the Gaggenau, but I don't won't to spend tons more to get a stainless interior. As far the pricing between the Bosch and the Therm. they seem to be within $100.00 of each other. Besides I can purchase the Thermador fairly locally, so I'll probably stick with that.

There is also a $250 rebate on the Thermadors right now for each unit. Go to the thermador website to download it. The purchase has to be made by Nov. 18, 2007 and rebate has tp be submitted by December 18,2007.

Can anyone tell me the prices they are getting for the Thermador columns at their local dealers?

I just saw the interior of the Bosch Integra food column and it is exactly like the Thermador (like you all said) with the difference of the freedom shelves and the colour of the trim.
None of the Thermador rebates apply to Canadian purchases so I will stick with the Bosch, which for me is much less than the Thermador.

im not sure of the confusion on production...

the integra, freedom, gaggenau and future miele line of built-in refrigerators are from turkey pretty much entirely...

the freestanding side by side bosch units are built by dae-woo

the only "bosch" refrigerator made in the USA is the normal THERMADOR(not freedom line) bottom mounts and side by sides which are built by kitchenaid
