When you write 'copy and paste' are you really looking to download a picture from a web site to your hard drive?

If so simply right click on the image and in the pop up menu click 'Save as...'. You can then click OK to save with the current name or type a new name then click OK. Watch where your computer is set to save it to so you can find it later, probably My Documents or My Pictures.

No, when I right click on a graphic I want to copy, it is usually to paste it in a email or word pad, etc" I already know how to Save As and put it in a folder and go that route but since I can't copy and paste on Firefox, I use the link and open up Internet Explorer, it is just a puzzle as to why copy and paste won't work on Firefox.

    Thanks

On Outlook Express 6, when I create mail I have always enjoyed inserting pictures so I can use the alternate text message, instead of attaching a file or drag/drop, however the picture source browse button quit working, plus the cancel button doesn't work, I can only use the close button to escape. I haven't made any changes anywhere so I wonder what happened?

    hello Sunshines,
Have you tried using CTRL + C to copy and CTRL + V to paste? That works for me in apps that don't have the copy or paste in the right click menu. I have, but don't use Firefox, so I can't answer the original question.

While searching or waiting for the answer to your Firefox problem I would suggest trying things similar to what pkponder suggested above. Someplace, I on rare occasions, visit an application where I curiously cannot past except using the >Edit>paste at the top left of my screen.

I had never tried copying and pasting a picture before I read this post, but I tried with firefox and no matter which way I tried to paste it doesn't work. Paste is greyed out in the context menu and in the edit > paste menu and control + v does not work.

Right clicked on a couple of the images on this page and selected copy image in Firefox, then went to MS Word and Outlook and copied in using Ctl-V and right click/Paste. It worked all 4 times.

Yes, it works in word or outlook, but try to paste it in a message on the forum or an email. It has something to do with html. I don't pretend to understand but seems to be a known problem.

I've been copying and pasting jokes from emails to the humor thread on the back page and lately my computer has been freezing up when I do. DS said to save the jokes in a word pad (text) format then c/p from there sometimes it's ok other times still freezes up

"Yes, it works in word or outlook, but try to paste it in a message on the forum or an email. It has something to do with html. I don't pretend to understand but seems to be a known problem."

Some forums don't let you paste images directly into them. For those, you need to upload an image to a hosting site like photobucket or imageshack and link to the image in the forum.

I'm not sure I understand how pasting in email is different from pasting in outlook, since outlook is an email client.
