Used RegCleaner & now getting Timed Out Messages -Help, Please?

I hope this takes because it's my third time trying.

I keep getting Timed Out so I've resorted to typing this into an email first just in case.

The timed out seems to be my problem.

You all are my last resort before throwing this laptop into the mud pit in my back yard.

Everything was humming along fine this past 4 months with my son's (lent to me)

Compaq Presario Laptop

V4240US

Windows Home XP sp2

DSL/Broadband/Wireless

I was reading this Computer Board about a week ago (as I always do a couple times a week because I pick up all kinds of wonderful tips) when I saw a post about RegCleaner.

I looked at son's computer and realized he didn't have RegCleaner of any kind on his computer so.....

I downloaded it and let it do it's thing.

It removed 386 items.

It was after that I noticed the computer was running very slow and doing the Timed Out or just blank screen when I was

Can't you restore with the backup that RegCleaner made.
Backups Tab, put a check in the box, then down at the bottom 'Restore Backup'

    Hi Randy,

Thank you so much for responding.

I just now noticed my whole message didn't show up here.
Computer must have timed out again before the message went through? I dunno, I'm frustrated.

I went looking for a Backup Tab but duh-me --- I did a restore to early July, long before I had downloaded the RegCleaner, so, no RegCleaner on computer and no backup tab.
I did the restore after I tried everything else I knew to try:
Clean Cache, Clear Temps, Disc Clean-up, Defrag, Ran complete virus scan.

I would run SpyBot or AdAware but I can't get them downloaded because they keep doing the Timed Out thing.

So, no backup tab because as of right now there is no more RegCleaner.
    *sigh*

It sounds like a connection problem if it is timing out while on the internet.
It may be worth a call to your DSL provider and have them walk you through the settings for the connection.

Maybe someone will come along with some suggestions for DSL/Broadband/Wireless

RegCleaner usually only finds things that are safe and harmless to remove.
The System Restore to early July should have replaced any keys the cleaner removed.

Does anybody know if the ipconfig /flushdns command would help?
