We put a laundry style sink in the garage... mostly for washing vegetables and eggs before they come into the house. You would probably rather look at it in the garage than in the house. I found my sink at Habitat for Humanity restore for $35.

We have a fairly deep sink in our mudroom and I really like having it there. Interior dimensions are 16x21 and 13" deep. It's not as big as a laundry tub but I have used it to clean big items and things for the dog. (We have a laundry tub in our downstairs laundry, the plasticky kind on legs, and I agree - it's not attractive.)

I totally love the huge one in the 'eclectic laundry room' above... now I have sink envy!

I'm posting the only pic I have of the sink, but please forgive the laundry that's in the dryer! That's kind of embarrassing.

We have one, and I use it often, every crew that has worked on the house has used it and likes it, and our tenant thinks is wonderful.

Something functional and useful is not ugly, it's "utilitarian".

You could paint it, you could box in the base, but nothing beats a sturdy, deep enough to bathe toddlers and fill buckets kind of sink.

That stainless one is nice. Where did you see it, Bmh? Otherwise, I think having a base cabinet around the sink makes it attractive and functional.

We have a large SS sink in our laundry (it's not the mud room), and another large utility sink in the garage with one of those freeze proof faucets. That sink is so handy, don't know what we'd do without it. But I surely can see where one in the mud room would be handy. It doesn't have to look ugly. In our last home, we had a big utility tub mounted into the cabinet and it look just fine.
