How are the 8 x 8 posts secured to the floor? I live in the mountains of CO and have high winds.

The posts are bolted to Simpson Strong-Tie fasteners embedded in poured concrete footings. I can't speak to whether this would be appropriate for your situation-- I highly recommend you speak with a licensed and experienced contractor to determine the best method for you.

Erin, thanks for asking! The posts are about 13'-3" on center (wide) by 10'-3" on center (deep), while the rafters etc. are about 16'-0" wide by 13'-6" deep. The overall structure is about 9' tall.
