Urgent question about Bluestar...outside of oven VERY hot!

Good news and bad news....I just took the plunge and after months of waffling, we bought the 36" Bluestar (6 burners). The good news is that I have loved the cooktop portion of this unit! I love the control of the flame, love the entire look of the range. Bad news, I just fired up the oven and after getting it to desired temp, the outside of the oven door is so hot that it burnt and blistered my hand. Is this normal? I have 3 kids under the age of 5, this would be 3rd degree burns on their little hands if they touched this. HELP!!!

Please tell me this is not normal for Bluestar or ANY professional range for that matter. I had a Viking in our old house and never felt excessive heat transfer.

This is crazy...I read these posts...a 200 degree door. No way. This range should be recalled. That is dangerous.

I am considering a bluestar range currently and I am glad I read your link. Alternately, I am considering a rangetop and separate wall oven because of similar concern, i.e. easier to burn myself in bending position vs. at standing position since I have more ergonomic control. Do anyone think it is a valid concern?
