Converting to Outlook 2007 - Windows Mail sucks

My laptop came with Microsoft Windows Mail which I hate. This is what Vista uses for default Email. Though I've been using it for months now, I keep finding reasons to hate this program. I keep hundreds of contact in there with info for my business.

I use Outlook Express 2000 on my desktop and like it, though I've weined myself off of the desktop. I tried loading Outlook Express 2000 to my Vista notebook, but not without problems.

If I were to purchase Outlook 2007 (not express) separately, would the data transporting from Windows Mail to Outlook be easy (transporting all the data). Any problems I should be aware of? I'd want to data to be transported so when I open Outlook, everything looks just as it does in MS Mail.

Just wondering as I used OE and Outlook before using the current Windows Mail. What is so terrible about it? Is it perhaps more consumer dedicated than commercial? Just curious?

My issues mainly have to do with adding contacts in the contacts section of Window Mail and composing emails using saved email addresses.

1) In OE, when I'm composing an email to someone, I can just type the first two letters of the receipient's name or email address, and the full address would pop up in the "TO" area. In Windows Mail, I can do this if I compose emails to the same people all the time, but if I don't compose an email to the same person for a week or so, it no longer pops up. I have to search for their address - it doesn't pop up when entering the first 2 letters. This is a pain in the a** especially when I have hundreds of business contacts and can be very time consuming when sending the same email to numerous people.

2) I have folders for all my "types" of subcontractors. I can't drag and drop entries from one category to another. In other words, if I want to move one of them to a different category, I can't. I have to retype all the info in the contacts section. This is a huge problem. In Express, I could drag and drop easily.

3) Another problem is that continually, when I enter a new contact and all their info, then hit "ok" to accept it and add to the list of other contacts, it doesn't show up. I've had to enter the same info 2 or 3 times before it finally appears where it should. This is a huge problem because I keep long notes on all my subcontractors for reference. This was not an issue with Express.

These are tbe 3 main issues I can think of right now.
