DD - 603SS vs 605SS and finish questions

It seems that F&P has replaced the 603 with the 605. (The DD603xx is no longer on the web site.) Does anybody know what the difference is? The appliance store said that it has made a change to accommodate 12" plates standard rather than as an option, and thought that was all. But I doubt they would make a model change just for that.

I'd like to know if the new one is better, or if perhaps it has been cost reduced in a bad way.

Also, I want to double check the color/finish. I want the regular SS that matches everybody else's SS. The DD605SS describes the finish as "EZKleen Stainless Steel". I get worried about modifiers like that because they often meen special finishes that look funny. I don't have an actual DD605SS to look at. The DD603SS does look fine to me.

Finally, the dealer is offering to sell me the floor model DD603SS for a good price. But I expect it has been on the floor for a couple of years. What kinds of problems could I get into with that?

I heard that new model was going to have a sensor to monitor how dirty the load is, but I can't confirm or deny that. From looking at the user manual, the cutlery basket is different from that of the 603 models.

Based on the available cycle choices and descriptions, the 605 model does *not* appear to have a soil sensor. They're the same cycles and sequences as all the models have always featured. The silverware basket is redesigned, the 605 series apparently uses slightly less water, does not have the extended dry option, and some of the target temperatures are a little higher than my 4-year-old 603. Newer 603s also may have different temperatures. Cycle temperatures have occasionally changed slightly within a particular model series.

The product description mentions "triple flood protection," which I don't recall seeing that before .. but does not provide further details on what are the three guard methods.
