Wax dipped cinnabun potpourri fixins? ! ?

Hi all,

Does anyone have the recipe for the mini cinnabun fixins

that are dipped in wax and then "drizzled" with additional

wax that smell so yummy?

I seemed to have misplaced my recipe. As I recall, they are fashioned from a dough like clay, then baked, cooled

and then dipped in fragrant wax. I made these last year

as gifts for friends and coworkers and they were a big hit.

Thank you in advance--

Thanks for the post with the photo link- YES, these are them! I know that I have the recipe someplace. I'll try to
dig it up today and share. People love these and they are
quick and fun (although messy!) to make.

Don't know if this will help you or not but it's the only thing I could find on a candle making forum.

    How to make Cinnabuns
Deanna, I don't know how this will work with your cut n curl wax but I will tell you how I make them with CBL-141.
Get a square cake pan, melt, color, scent your wax and pour it into the pan. Set out a large piece of tin foil (I use the non-stick kind). Now this is a bit tricky, but you have to let the wax set up just enough to be solid but not tooo much that you can't work it. You can test with a cake tester, you want it to not be soupy. Then cut the wax into strips .. I make my strips about 3" wide. Pick up the first strip and set it with the cut side on the foil, then start rolling it...you have to kind of mold and roll at the same time so it won't split. As I am rolling I also start pushing it gently upwards because I like mine to be tall. You do have to work quickly so you can get to the other strips before they harden...this might take some practice . Once you get them all molded you can add your wick. Again, I don't know nuttin' about the properties of the wax you have, but I measure the width of my "buns" and use the appropriate size LX wick...I drill a hole in the middle of the buns and then insert the wick. After they are all formed and wicked, I then melt some wax with no color, just scent for the icing...put it into a pouring pot and then holding the bun by the wick drizzle the wax over the buns. If you put more of the no stick foil into a pan, you can then re-heat the over pour and use it again. HTH and is not too confusing!

I do almost the same thing,
but I wick as I roll. I just lay my wick against the edge of the wax when I start to roll the bun. When you're finished, the wick is in the center. I may just be lazy but this works for me--and I've never tried using a drill on a candle.

Found the recipe! The mini cinnabuns are fashioned out of
salt dough. (You know the one- 2c flour, 1/2c salt and Water (1cup minus 2 tablespoons) Mix and then "knead" until
doughy (dough hook mixer or bread machine makes this a snap)/ Then let dough rest 15 min.
Now it's time to make the buns. Take a palm sized aamount of dough and rolll into "snake" Coil up snake, starting with middle of bun. Sprinkel with ground cinnamon. Bake in 175 degree oven about 1&1/2 to 2 hours. MUST BE VERY DRY!!!!
    NEED:
Large 3 wick VANILLA candle ( walmart)
    Cookie sheet
    Aluminum Foil
    Candle Fragrance
. Break candle into small chunks-- (I used sharp knife- be careful) Melt wax over double boiler or old crock pot. Mix in cadle scent (1 to 2 tablespoons-- cinnabun fragrance is available on the net)
Test wax temp by dipping in spoon. If spoon comes out clean you are ready for dipping. Use fork to dip- I found
chinese metal mesh dipper to be more efficient. Dip one
cinnabun ant a time and place on foil to cool.

These are incredible fragrant-- package in see through cello bags- tie with rafia or jute twine from hardware store. You can attach "prim tag" with instructions DO NOT EAT!!! Look nice in small basket with homespun bow tied to
    handle
    Good Luck!
