Have you ever heard of Magnetic Bracelets ?

Oh--I know there are plenty of "magnetic" things for sale -- but my friend showed me a bracelet that looked SOOOO elegant -- made with magnetic beads and swarovski crystals. It was so cool -- I found the beads on the net - and made my own.

She said they were popular at the State Fair and

other doings. If this is old news -- forgive me ! --I don't get out much ! LOL .... If you would like to see a pic and directions - post here .. maybe it's new to you too !

I recently purchased an ankle bracelet with the magnets,
hemitite beads and crystals - its beautiful.
For years I have suffered with edema in my legs - my left
ankle was the more affected with it. Since I began wearing
the bracelet - the swelling has reduced a bunch and the
circulation is returning to my foot.
I'm going to buy a necklace next because I'm told it will
help balance the circulation through-out the entire body.
Being a diabetic - I will try almost anything but this
bracelet has been a God sent....

Awesome! Can you post the site where you bought the magnets? How big are they? It's hard to tell from a photograph.

When you buy the magnetic beads do they give you the information about their healing powers?

Please post directions!! I'm a frequent flyer at the local craft stores, but I haven't seen this craft! What type of magnets are used??? Looks like something I would like to try. Thanks! Bettye

These are 6mm Austrain Crystals (Got them at Hobby Lobby. )
The hemitite beads come in different stregths and finishes. These are "extra strength bullet tubes" ... they are more powerful and alittle on the expensive side.... here's the site I bought them at (Arizona Bead Company ) I didn't see any info on the healing powers,Candy ... but snoop around their site - maybe you will find something. I sure have heard alot of "Success stories" with Magnets... I bet they would sell like hotcakes! The funniest thing was when I was eating at a restaurant -- the silverware kept attaching itself to my bracelet ! LOL This bracelet is strung on very thin nylon coated steel wire and is about 15" long ...

The pattern of beads are :

    2 hemitite /1 crystal/spacer/1 crystal/1 spacer/1 crystal .
there's 10 sets of this combo with 2 extra hemitie beads on the end. It wraps around my wrist twice - but you can always experiment with different combos to make different lengths.
Hope this helps a bit !

I've never heard of them. I'll have to ask DIL over in Germany if she has since she does beading a lot.
    Nice Information.

I want to make some... they look great and sound like fun. I only have one reservation....Have you had any trouble with erasing the magnetic strip on your cc's or bank card? I have to be careful with magnetic closures on purses (had to replace 3 bankcards so far) and this sounds like it could present the same problem if bracelet and cards come in contact. Just a thought.....

LOL Kathy... I can just see you with spoons and forks stuck to your wrist... and knives flying at you from adjacent tables.

Good point muny... I wonder too if the magnets would interfere with laptop computers.

I love the way the magnetic beads look so I hope they don't cause problems. What could be worse than something disabling our credit cards and computers :)

They say to never put a magnet near one of the newer sewing machines either.

I haven't had any problems with the magnets--I don't think they could be that strong. I'm wearing mine now sitting here ... I would guess that they even't as strong as one fridge magnet - just enough to hold your bracelet on. You what else they have ? Magnetic clasps for necklaces --- no more fumbling with that little circle thingee --- just replace them with magnets !

there are also sellers on ebay that sell the magnetic beads that look likepears...various finishes...various strengths.

folks with pacemakers & certian health conditions shouldn't use magnetic jewelry.

If these are real hermitite they aren't very strong....some of the synthetic hermatities are stronger. the peral type ones I got from ebay are measured in gauss (sp?) strength...500, 750, 1000 gauss.
