What kind of crafting do you do?

Just curious about what others like to do :)

I started out painting. I mostly just painted items that we already had other colors. Then I started to paint on just about anything I could get my hands on. I love making signs... Anything Prim country. Painting is still my fav. I love going to the TS, getting junk and making a treasure out of it!

I picked up crocheting about three years ago. I mostly like to crochet in the winter months. The cold inspires me! I got in the mood for crocheting about a month ago and did some sweaters for our puppy, small tote for DD, a hat for DD and finished up a beautiful baby afghan that I plan to give to a friend this weekend.

I also like to sew. I'm not an expert by any means. I seem to learn more as I go. I have my yo-yo quilt that I was working on and have about 800 yo-yo's on...that's all hand-sewn. I also like to get the sewing machine out and play around. This past week I did a few candle mats, table runners and bowl fillers. (I have a few other things I want to work on but the dang sewing machine needle broke and I have to wait until I get to Wal-Mart this weekend).

This past spring, I started doing some embroidery work. I mostly only do the primitive stitcheries and I make up my own patterns.

So that's about it...for now! LOL

What do you like to do?

You name it I've probably done it with the exception of crocheting and knitting.
I've been sewing since I was five. I'm a self taught quilter.
I like repainting furniture. I know how to do a variety of different paint techniques that I use on furniture and on my walls.
I like minatures...I have several dollhouses in different stages of repair.
I can do beading, polymer clay, scrapbooking, wreath making, flower arranging, rubberstamping, clothdoll making. Basically if I see something I can make it.

I'm inspired by the Garden Junk forum, but haven't really finished any projects.

I tried quilting, but found I like to buy material and make quilt tops. I do not like to finish them. After that, I went smaller items. I like to hand sew. I make lots of Christmas ornaments. I've been focusing on crafting with my kids more. For the last three years, we've been inviting our young friends over to do a few craft projects like danglers and melting lifesavers. It's rewarding because at least we finish the projects.

I'll try anything that interests me once and if I really love it, I'll stick with it.
I have been making jewelry for right at year now and I absolutely love it!! I wish I had gotten the bug to design my own years ago. In High School I repaired vintage pieces both jewelry and handbags,I found at flea markets and second hand shops before it was hip to do such things.
It took me almost 23 years to go back to my original love of jewelry!! Love it!!
I can't paint my nails much less paint other things..but I admire those who do. I just wish I had taken sewing classes in High School but I didn't. I can design the boutique style clothes for my grand daughter, but I have to hire a seamstress to sew it all up....bummer!!

If it's there to be done - I've tried it at one time or another . My fave was painting ...I Learned it - I taught it ... I lived to paint. I stopped doing it when so many imports were coming in . My latest craft is stained glass. I've been doing it for a couple years now. I'm almost burnt out ... so my next project is Polymer Clay --- I'm all set to jump in with 2 feet ! I guess I'm an admitted craft-a-holic ~~~~~~~

I sew, mosaic, and paint/distress small vintage wood items for the house (shelves, foot stools, cabinets, etc).

To be more specific, my theme is cottage, and or shabby, whichever you prefer. Lately, I have been into pillows. I buy vintage Wilendur tablecloths in rose patterns and strawberries as well. I have scraps left over that are still good enough to make more pillows, but had them up on Craigslist, hoping to trade for pieces of vintage chenille. No bites yet. Would love to trade them if I could find chenille. I love vintage fabrics. I also make curtains out of feedsacks, and chair covers, and more pillow cases. LOL

As for Mosaics, I have over 3 dozen items I have made over a period of 3+ years, using fine china. As for painting and distressing. I just love finding old items to re-purpose.

    I also crochet.

Right now I am really into doing primitive stitcheries, really calming and easy to do when watching tv or at ball games. Have done some sewing, flower arranging, scrapbooking, and odds and ends of crafting. I also like making garden junk and funny things to add to the fairy garden. I have a hard time coming up with ideas sometimes, and when they come I just run with them for a time, til I get tired of it.

Wow! What a talented group of ladies here. If I ever need help with a project, this will be the place to find an answer!

I mostly do decorative painting, cut my own wood for painting, make trash to treasure and garden junk projects, and dabble with making centerpieces and other arrangements for my home. I've done some crossstitch, and made yo yos--good things to do while traveling. Wish I would have learned to crochet.

I want to try doing mosaic, hopefully after the holidays.

All of you are very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your talents and knowledge.

I love to paint. So relaxing. Country Prim would be my style too. I like anything old and beat up. ha I love shopping TS's to find things to repaint and repurpose. It's fun painting on lots of different things. I just started painting signs and will be making a bunch for Christmas gifts.

I cross-stitch too, but not as much as I used to since I've made friends on the Tole Painting forum. I taught myself how to crochet, but only to make some Christmas ornies and never done it since. Trying to learn how to quilt so I can make some Americana quilts for my house. This summer learned how to make jewelry and DD and I have been having fun making lots of earrings.
I'd like to eventually learn to make furniture. Think that would be awesome. ~Anj

I do all sorts of projects. I enjoy painting and floral design the best. I love being creative and solving problems. I also like ceramics but have not it in years since my Grandma passed. I think I get the crafting bug from her.

It's easier to name the things that I DON'T
    do, or haven't done.

    THINGS I HAVE NOT DONE...
    stained glass
    mosiacs
    welding-always wanted to-
    knitting-I crochet-
counted cross stitch-did printed cross stitch before-
    tatting
jewelry-I like to make bead 'danglers' tho

I am a garden junk-trash to treasure person.
Did a lot of sewing once upon a time. Made my wedding
gown and my daughters wedding gown-mine was easier-LOL
Hers had 93 yards of 11 inch wide chiffon ruffles that
had to be sewn on by hand.
