Do you listen to music on an ipod/iphone?

I held out on a ipod, thinking I wouldn't use it. But I love having that option on my iphone. Just wondering who else uses one?

I learned about iPods when my young nieces got their Nanos. They were so excited, eager for me to listen. I did and the sound quality coming out of that little gadget blew me away. So later I got a deal on one, open box special from Circuit City. Worked just fine. I loaded it up with songs, sometimes would listen while puttering in the yard or walking the dogs. But somewhere along the way I sort of forgot about it. (Like when I joined a health club, never failed, forgot to take the ipod every time.) I just don't use it. Tho I did take my songs & burn to CD for road trips. ;)

I found I listened to music *more* once I got my first iPod. Just so much more convenient to have it in my pocket, rather than have to go to a room where there was a CD player, find the right disk, etc. I upgraded to an iPod Touch last fall and love it to pieces.

For the record, I bought my first iPod on the very first day they went on sale. Showed up at the Apple store a few minutes before they opened, with a friend who also wanted one. They opened, we walked in and then had to ask where the iPods were! And the salesman we asked didn't know, either. They were tucked in the back of the store, around a corner. Now, of course, you can't get into the store because of all the people getting iPods and accessories and things.

i love my ipod, but only seem to use it when i walk alone... it's fabulous to walk with---helps me keep a strong pace- i know i walk much faster with it than when i don't have it or when i'm walking with friends.
even though i have a "dock" system, i rarely play it in the house...

I got a Nano 2nd generation when they first came out for DH for Christmas. It sat in the box for three years before he decided to give it a try. Now he loves it for working out in the gym.

When my iPod Nano died, I replaced it with a Sansa Clip. Much cheaper, more portable, more storage (it has expandable memory). I can listen to it while I work out or do yard work without worrying that I might drop a $150 toy.

Music, books, podcasts, FM radio all in a tiny gadget -- mp3 players are a fantastic invention.

Dh got a free iPod years ago for a safety award or something. Neither of us has ever uploaded a single song to it.

Used to be I couldn't live without music. Was thrilled when we got our CD collection organized in a 400 disc changer and put speakers throughout the house, but these days it's rare that I take the time to play anything. Sometimes when I'm working in the yard I'll play a few CDs, but that's about it. Even at Christmas I only listened to the holiday discs a few times.

I do love music. Don't listen to it outside often though - am almost afraid to when walking LOL.

I'm able to use the ipod on my phone in the car. I rarely use it at home, but like it for trips (have a small travel dock/speakers)and at work.

I play CDs on our small flatscreen tv in the kitchen alot when cooking or cleaning in there (laundry room is off kitchen).

I listen to my ipod only when working out to avoid getting sick of the same songs. I don't listen to music on my phone.

Definitely an IPod lover here; we all have one in our family and I gave away my cd collection years ago. I have an IPod dock wired for the whole house so I bought an IPod classic designated only for the dock.

I loaded a Nano for my 82 year old Dad with his favorite music, he has coffee at the mall every day and brings it with him to listen to after his friends go home.
Now I have dozens of very old school songs in my Library, lol....

I should download a few playlists on my IPhone.

I use mine in a speaker dock in my home for music and I love using it on the plane. Travel is so much nicer now that I can cocoon with my own entertainment, particularly video.

I use my iPhone for music when I'm at my desk working. I don't have many songs downloaded to it, so I tend to listen to Pandora stations instead. (I've got unlimited data plan).

Had to laugh one day when I was reviewing a particularly ugly file and Metallica's Enter Sandman started playing. Perfectly fit my mood!

I gave my free iPod (bought MacBook Pro) to DS. He uses them when walking to work - or used to before the iPhone came out.

My new car has a built-in (short) cord in the glove box. We've only had the car a few weeks, so yesterday was the first time I'd used the cord. Thought it was just to charge my iPhone, but when I plugged it up, not only did it charge but started my stored music. Couldn't believe how easy it was to scroll through song or skip to another artist. Will be doing that more often.. and uploading more CDs to my iPhone this weekend.

I'd like to add that I love the iPod for long road trips. Saves the hassle and added distraction of trying to change CDs while driving.

My brother lives a 6.5 hour drive away. I have four or five playlists that last for a little over two hours each, just for long road trips (labeled Road Rage 1, Road Rage 2, etc.) It's so convenient to start a playlist up and know that when it ends, it's time to find a rest area and take a break. Keeps me sane on long car trips by myself.

For the past 5 years I have used an Ipod for music. I just got the cute little nano touch. Love how compact it is for exercising. Like Allison, I can plug it in my car.
I don't load music into my phone.

Love my ipod! I take it with me whenever I travel and like forhtv enjoy being able to withdraw from the crowds. I have also found that I will walk for a longer time if I have it with me.

Besides music, I have loaded webinars, seminars and recordings from various radio talk shows. I like the idea that I can listen to a recording at anytime anywhere and rewind if I miss out on something that was said.

One thing that has worked very well for me are the upgraded earplugs from Apple. The ones that came with the ipod hurt my ears and did not fit well. The earplugs were pricey ($79) but when I had damaged them on a flight, Apple replaced them with no questions at all.

Don't seem to listen to much music at home.

My 16 y/o DD gave me her Ipod when she got a new one for her birthday last year. The old one that's now mine didn't "hold enough music" for her, but it's more than fine for me ;^D Mine holds about 300 songs; her new one holds close to 3,000! I don't even have close to 300 of mine and don't plan to, either.
I don't walk around every day plugged into it, but I do use it plugged into my car sometimes and it's fantastic for trips. I just got back last week from a trip to Florida and listened to it a LOT the plane and in the airport during my layovers. It's great for drowning out crying kids . . . and blabbering adults whose conversations carry for rows and rows.
