We want a fireplace in our new basement. My husband and I have read countless articles pro and con each application. The information we're finding is biased as it's from the people selling them. Does anyone have any personal stories to share about either of these types of units?

The basement is 24x40 with the main media room being about 20x 15. It's not sealed as tightly as we wished, in fact the Pella windows we got were a disappointment but they're mortered in and it's cold already.

We also want a plasma tv over the fireplace.

So, any products to avoid? Any products you love? Average cost? I want to be able to make an educated decision.
