I'd be perfectly happy with a three way tie between James, Haley and Scotty. I am ( and have been) soooo over whatshisname with the high pitched gospel-diva sound. He's gotta be gone tomorrow.

Leachcate, it's Jacob who is driving us crazy. LOL! I love James and hope he wins. That said, I think they are all destined for wonderful careers. I liked their second performances better than the first tonight. I listened to James and Haley twice.

I actually voted last night for the first time ever (in watching AI for about 6 seasons) -- for James. I wasn't liking Haley recently but I thought she was great last night. Yes, let's please send Jacob home tonight!

Don't anyone faint - but I watched!! My SIL lives very near Lauren and grew up with some of her family. She kept telling me about her and I finally remembered last night to turn it on. Meant to last week but couldn't find the show - I didn't realize it was on FOX. LOL!!

Someone needs to fill me in on James. Why was he so emotional in regards to his family? There must be a story there. Such emotion. I thought they all did good except Jacob. I agree with the judges that he really needs to find his style music - the right songs. The other 4 I really liked all of them. I think Haley nailed it with House of the Rising Sun.

I'm not sure how many episodes are left but I read that Steven Tyler will be debuting a song on the show and that Aerosmith will perform on the finale. I hope to see those!!

Tina, That was very touching with James wasn't it? He's just a new dad with a young family. After what Cheryl Crow said last night about Scottie, I'm betting that James also has been told he's got a future in music after this is done and it's over whelming him.

They were all very good, but wish it was Jacob that went last week instead of Casey. I think he would have done something really cool last night too. It's really hard to say who will win this time. After all the changes that were made for this season, I was really worried, but it's turned out much much better than I thought it would.

I just wanted to add a bit more about James. He also has Tourette's and Aspergers and from what I understand, has overcome a lot to get to where he is right now. If you have watched the show, you would see that when he is not performing, he has fairly obvious tics.

Thanks Sue, I did notice the tics and sort of guessed but not knowing for sure I didn't want to bring it up. If nothing else it really does show not only some real courage, but also his conviction to his love of singing doesn't it?

I was so sorry to see James voted off-- he was my favorite.

I enjoyed Lady Gaga's performance. She is outrageous but a good singer and songwriter and a real original.

I also thought Steven's video was good.

I was sorry to see James voted off too...it was a hard call for sure because they are all pretty good. I was hoping Haley would get the boot.

Wonder if any of the coaches see potential in him. I don't recall any of them saying anything about him having a career after the show the way they have with the others, especially Scotty.

Well that was a shocker, wasn't it? I thought James of all of them had the best chance. Seems he can sing about anything. Given his story & talent, I hope he gets a recording contract out of this. When the last two guys were standing I thought for sure they'd say Scotty was out. (Not that he's bad, he's outstanding at country but less versatile than James.) This is my first season ever watching, one thing I learned is you never know where it's going to go!

I've gained two hours in my week because I certainly have no interest in watching the three remaining contestants.

We've been watching less and less the past few weeks. I'm tired of the show for whatever reason. With James gone, we're done watching.

Remember that guy from the beginning of the show that wouldn't let Scotty if his group? I bet he's having a fit, lol.

I was also shocked. And I second what graywings said. I'm not crazy about any of the remaining 3, and I really don't like Scotty. I just don't like country music and I don't find anything appealing about him.

I am finished watching, too. I thought James had the most talent and I am shocked that he was voted off. Can't stand Haley-she seems so fake and calculating. I think she is rude, too, the way she talked back to Randy in a sarcastic way ("Yeah, I get it"). Lauren, hmmm...just can't see it, and Scotty is fine, but to me he sounds like every country singer, so nothing special.

I seem to remember a deal Steven Tyler made with him that they'd do an Aerosmith song together on AI, but IIRC it would happen 'when James won'. That would have been cool to hear.

Heavy metal James didn't have a chance any more than jazzy blues Casey. This is American Idol afterall. They want mainstream ... which probably means Lauren or Scottie.

Yes, cyn, that would be nice. I was just reading online today that AI made an exception for James, and gave him time off to go home for James Durbin Day celebration. (At first he wasn't going to get to go, because of commitments to AI, but since he's been voted off, I don't get that part.)
