I believe that Bostic makes there own adhesive remover. But it's likely that it will show where you remove the adhesive because it may etch the floor finish. I would try any remover that you think might work in an inconspicuous area first to make sure.

We had adhesive left on our floor too. I used every kind of remover I knew of to no avail. Nothing hurt the finish but neither did it take up the glue. What did work was superfine steel wool (000 I think). Lightly sand the glue area and then rub with a little Goo Gone. Do not sand hard. Try this on an inconspicuous area or on a piece of scrap first to see how it affects your finish. We must have an extremely durable finish because it took the glue off and didn't hard the floor.

    Hi
If you used Bostik Adhesive there is a special remover for that
And no you not going to see any mark after that,
    and no don't try to send the floor only if nothing help then do it;
If it pass a long time since you install the floor it will be harder to remove it but still it remove must of the glue.
I attached link for the Bostik adhesive remover

Believe it or not, I have removed urethane adhesive that had been on for weeks, during an inspection for a manufacturer, by just using my finger or thumb.

Rubbing it back and forth with a dry finger, rolls the adhesive up in a ball, and if you can get your finger to squeak when rubbing the surface, it will come off like an eraser.

I just recently installed Bamboo floors using Bostik glue and i realized after the fact how many fingerprints were on the floor. To scrape up glue "globs" i used a plastic scraper and for the fingerprints, mineral spirits worked fine. It will not 100% eliminate the marks, but it helps. Just make sure you wipe it off with a clean cloth after you clean the area. Mineral spirits is oily and needs to be wiped. I have the Bostik wipes, but it just didn't do the trick for me, left a oily mark where the glue was.

Using some Urethane Glue right now from Mapei. Doing a series of tests on what works best for cleaning.

Mapei makes a [Urethane Glue Cleaner[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/what-is-the-best-cleaner-for-mapei-ultrabond-eco-995-glue-residue-dsvw-vd~2905468?n=2) that I have yet to try and while setting I found Varsol Paint Thinner works well for any wet smears. Removes them straight away.

You should be able to get most of the glue off with your finger nail and then attack the smear with a cleaner.

This is what the urethane cleaner looks like from Mapei. Cost me about $22.00 yesterday.

I was going to suggest trying resolve. I know it sounds wild, but it removed rubber backing off our wood floors. Discovered via google.

We have just installed Hard floors on Concrete using the glue down method. Unfortunately, my husband also got glue on our floor as he was installing. We saw in another chat thread that Mr.Clean Magic eraser works on the dried glue. I had my doubts, but decided to try it anyway. It REALLY works. The Bostik and Mopei cleaner does work too but leaves an oily residue on the floor, which then needs to be cleaned up, I've heard that denatured alcohol works good with this, but have not tried it yet. Has anyone else had experience with that? I've used Magic Eraser, Bostik adhesive remover, Mopei adhesive, and then cleaned with Bruce and Bona cleaner, and so far nothing has hurt my floor! It's hard work but gradually we are getting it all up!

Hi all. Leaving my comment here for future people who encounter this issue. after my hardwood floors were installed with glue, there were glue stains all over the floor. some were huge! we tried all kinds of thinners, adhesive removers, goo off, bostik wipes and the liquid, you name it NOTHING WORKED. I saw in another thread to use a magic eraser so as our last skeptical option we bought one. IT FREAKING WORKED!! you have to rub and rub and rub but I found out that if you dab the bostik wipes on the spots and then clean it off with the magic eraser, the spots come off so much faster.

bottom line. Magic eraser and bostik wipes are a blessing for this problem.

the magic eraser must be dry when used. If it gets wet it won’t work at all

Is it possible to remove engineered hardwood flooring that has been in place (with bostik adhesive) for several years AND keep the wood salvagable? I put the flooring in downstairs but realize not it woud be better to have tile downstairs - I would love it if I was able to carefully remove the wood and then reuse it upstairs. Thoughts?? Am I crazy and way off base? It was expensive wood - I'd hate to lose it

If, the installation was done properly. Tge flooring will come out in bits and pieces. No way to salvage a glued down flooring.

Thank you. That’s what I figured but wanted more educated and knowledgeable opinion(s).
