Water based floor finish over oil based stain

Simple question: Can you apply water-based finish over oil-based stain? I'd like to use an oil-based finish, but I don't have time for proper recoating and curing with oil. I want to stain the floor (oak) golden to compensate for the lack of ambering of the water-base finish.

We do this all the time...yes, you can come close to the look of ambered floor finishing film. There are some one step floor sealers coming on the market that will color the wood to give it that yellowish look...they are primarilly professional use products.

You must follow stain application rates and dry times.

Use a finishing system that is designed for product compatability.

WHICH IS A ONE APPLICATION VERY INTERESTING NATURAL OIL-BASED FINISH IN DIFFERENT COLOURS...OR YOU CAN CHOOSE NO -COLOUR..
I MADE SAMPLES WITH IT AND DO NOT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO THINK OF THIS SYSTEM...

We just finished our new kitchen floor with Rubio Monocoat. It looks great-we used charcoal on walnut flooring. They may have a color that will give you an amber look on oak.
One of the main reasons we used this is because it is zero VOC. I am pregnant, and didn't have to have to pack up the family and move out for several days.
