What kind of foundation do you have?
And how do the buckling spots relate to load-bearing walls?
To pipes?
Any other symptoms?

Sounds like a structural issue with the house. Check for load bearing girder underneath the 'raised' flooring and for signs of sag in the floor system.

House inspector? Sure, but check references; some know very little about what they put their shingles out claiming that they do.

Buckling...

No cupping and a buckled floor, tells me the floor is subjected to higher humidity levels then when it was installed, that coupled with a lack of proper fastening schedule(fasteners too far apart or what they call skip nailing)

We have had buckling in our floors due to structural problems. We have expansive soil around here, which is causing us and many neighbors--also the builder--lots of headaches. Just got our engineer's report today. Needless to say, that has put a cramp in our "update the house" budget.

I would contact a reputable structural engineer in your area, particularly if you have expansive soil. Good luck!
