What do you do on the first 'real' day of spring?

After what seems like months of rain, we finally got a break today and have a GOOD spring day. The kind of day where you open all the windows and air the place out.

Some of you have been experiencing this for a while, so what do/did you do for the first 'real' day of spring?

I stripped our bed of all the linens, including the mattress pad & pillows, took it all to the laundromat where they have those ginormous washers and washed everything. Then I dried it just enough to bring it home and hung it all outside in the fresh air & sunshine.

Then my sons former GF and I took my Granddog Ruphous and my dog Aurora to the dog washing place where they got scrubbed up right and ready for flea season.

This evening we're going to grill some steaks, hit the hot tub and sleep like babies on the fresh linens.

Spring? What a distant memory! We've had the a/c on 24/7 for at least 6 weeks now. Humidity makes it a necessity.

If it were still spring-like without the humidity I'd have the windows and doors open and we'd be eating dinner on the screened porch every night with a cooling breeze from the ceiling fans. I'm already looking forward to fall ... meaning late October.

I do just as you said, Open the windows, let the air in and breeeeeaaaathhh. For some reason, I also like to make hamburgers and fresh veggies for dinner that first day.

Played Aerobie barefoot. The feel of fresh grass on the tootsies makes me feel like a kid again! Aired out the house and grilled that week too.

Today I greased up: Deep woods Off and Spf 50 Sunscreen and spent the day working in the yard- humidity was incredible and it was about 94 today. I was in the sun. We had a brief thunderstorm but I went back out afterwards- not gonna waste getting so dirty.
Spring? Oh, I don't remember when that was but I think it late February! This is Summer!

First really nice day- stayed outside until it was almost dark- didnt want to waste a minute of sun and breeze and almost painfully blue sky. Didnt do much- just dreamed, read and poked around in the yard, talking to the neighbors that I haven't really seen since the blizzards.
Today it was warm and a bit humid but cool enough to have the doors and windows wide open and a fan running- felt good. We have been running the AC now and again since Mid May.

Dang! And here I thought we were just a little behind! The newscasters have been saying people are calling this Juneuary, since it's been so cold and rainy. This IS unusual for us, but it's not uncommon for us to wear sweaters on 4th of July BBQs. I probably spoke too soon today, it clouded up a bit this afternoon, but it's still pretty warm.

Our weather has been pretty weird too. March was beautiful then April and May felt a lot like fall or winter again with lots of cold days. The poor foliage around here doesn't know what season it really is!

Wherever you are pesky, I'd love to be there. Spring is long gone and we are into July-type temps right now with blazing heat & HUMIDITY. Ugh, talk about bad hair days.

Usually I open all of the windows on the first spring-type weather day. Get out the old stale air and let in some "sunny" air after being closed up all winter. I have been known to jump the gun and start washing some summer clothes in anticipation of even warmer weather.

Your sheets ritual sounds devine especially after having a nice soak in the hot tub and hitting cool clean sheets that have hung to dry in the fresh spring breeze.

Actually, I'll take a bit of your weather as today was muggy and hot which makes me crabby unless I have time to sit by the pool with a cool drink and a book. Rather, I spent the day at a bridal shower which was very nice. However, the last of the showers is tomorrow (oh, today) so I am done with those for awhile, hopefully.

Ya just can't compare the gorgeous PNW with the MidAtlanic region Pesky!
I remember wearing sweatshirts on the Wash and Oregon coast on our trip west years ago- in the 3rd week of July!
We bought more sweatshirts to wear than anything- since we each only packed one cold weather outfit!
