Need specifics for rug pad safe for wood floors

I'm aware of many who have had problems with latex-backed rugs damaging their wood floors. I looked all over the internet and finally found a seagrass rug that was cotton canvas backed. It's a 9 x 12 and anchored by two couches, so there is not a lot of slippage. I would like to get runners for my kitchen, because high-traffic areas like right in front of the sink and the fridge are getting worn. But cotton backed ones slip, and I'm definitely afraid of latex backed. Many times I have seen people advised to get pads that are "safe for wood floors", but when it comes to finding such a rug pad, I can't find anyone selling one that is willing to make such a statement. Can anyone give me specifics on a rug pad that is known to be "safe for wood floors". I don't expect any pad to be safe if you spill a glass of water and let it sit there for a couple of days. But I would like something that would work for everyday use in the kitchen. Does anyone have any ideas?

Ask and you shall receive!!!! Glennsfc, if you put this under a latex-backed rug, would this be safe for the wood, or do I need to look for cotton-canvas backed only? Secondly, what is the price per foot for the product?

You can put these under any type of rug, including latex-backed, as the pad isolates the floor surface from the rug backing.

They are priced in sizes, i.e. 6 X 9, 9 X 12, 10 X 15, and such.

Haven't looked at my wholesale prices in awhile, but I think you can get a 9 X 12 for about $160.00. I figure that comes to about $1.50 per square foot. The product comes with a twenty year warrantee. It is a quality piece of goods.

I purchased this for my wood floors and it hasn't caused any stains. Plus it is reasonably priced.

I went to our local carpet store (mom & pop) and they had padding that looks like that wunderfirm glennsfc posted above. Comes on a large roll and they cut off what I needed for a large area rug and some runners. It's been down 3 years now and no problems. Seems to be wearing very well.
