German Chocolate Bars

Original Recipe Yield 20 bars

Ingredients

â¢ 1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped

â¢ 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

â¢ 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix

â¢ 3/4 cup butter, melted

â¢ 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

â¢ 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

â¢ 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 13 x 9 inch pan.

2. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup condensed milk.

3. In a separate bowl, combine cake mix with melted butter and 1/2 cup of condensed milk. Stir well.

4. Spread 1/2 of the cake mix mixture in pan and bake for 6 to 8 minutes.

5. Remove from oven and cover with caramel, chips and nuts. Put remaining cake mix on top. Bake for another 10 minutes.

Saved this from one of the cooking forums!

Chocolate Chip Blondies
(Taste of Home)
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c butter, melted
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1 1/2 c flour (I used half whole wheat pastry flour)
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 c chocolate chips (I used a whole bag :)

-Combine melted butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla mixing just until blended. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to brown sugar mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
-Spread in a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350Â° for 18-20 mins.
