Hi All! I am a new poster but a veteran lurker :) DH and I have just removed the carpet from my 15 step staircase. We are having trouble with the transition from the wood stair to a carpeted landing/hallway. The top step is unfinished, with no bullnose tread. We purchased an inexpensive metal strip but it seems very flimsy and from what I've read, visually unsafe. Wondering what would be the best route to take? I have read about using a landing tread but we are concerned with the height of the subfloor creating an incline. I am so nervous about this being a safety issue for our son. Ugh, I thought all the stirs were finished under the carpet!
