When creating a picture wall, how does one figure out how to layout the picture frames on large walls?

    Buy a large roll of inexpensive paper, put each frame on the paper and trace the shape around the frame - then cut out. Use painters tape to place the paper frame shapes up on the wall to arrange different patterns.

    The photo you posted here shows frames that are trying to be symmetrical. In fact, you have a good pattern going of horizontal and vertical. I would suggest paying attention to the outside perimeter of the whole grouping. Make sure those perimeter lines are straight rather than up and down (I am looking at the row across the top). If your outside perimeter is a square you can have some variation within your placement.
