There are 10 photos and I took 5 and had 5 professionally done.

Hmm, I just scrolled through those and realized that I somehow left one out. Dunno how I did that and it happens to be one of my favorite photos of Whit and Mason.

Whitney and Mason are old hands at "posing" for photos. I can put them into position and tell them stay and they'll hold it. They'll keep their ears up and looking at me....knowing that there will be treats coming. The pup is another story. She'll stay in position on a "stay" command for exactly one photo then she needs to see me/be reset. Makes for a long session.

teacats, I've had cats in the past and, unless they happen to be sitting together by choice, I can't imagine trying to "herd" them together to try to take a photo!

Funny story about the photo of Whit and Mason in front of the poinsettias. That was taken back before I had a digital camera. I used my old 35mm. I bought a large fence type section of lattice then I bought hundreds of silk poinsettias. Set it all up in the family room and shot a roll of film. Did the one hour processing and wasn't happy with any of the photos. Repeated that several times. By the time I got a photo I was happy with I had every lamp in the house in the family room and I still wound up buying a new bounce flash. Tons of work, very pricey and when I look at it now I really don't like that photo at all.

Those are great! I wish I saved all of ours. The best one we ever did was when our oldest DS was about 8 months old. We were on vacation and the condo we were staying in had a big, deep jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The 3 of us got in the tub, set the camera on the counter with a timer, and took the pic. We are all clothed, but since you only could see our heads popping out of the tub, you might think we're not. Last year's was my second fave -- all 5 of us (we've added 2 more kids since that first card) at the top of the Duomo in Florence.

We have two dogs but I have given up on trying to get all 3 kids and 2 dogs to look good in one photo. These days we usually send those collage cards w/ several pics. I've already gotten this year's cards -- DH looked at the finished product and had only one comment: "Where are the dogs?" I had forgotten to include them...

Wow, those are awesome. Those Dobermans sure are some great "posers."

Great cards! I can so relate to how many shots you need to take to get "the one" for your Christmas/holiday card. Before DD started college last year, every year I tried to shoot DD with the dogs. At one point I was shooting 3 dogs with DD. That was fun. Trying to get just one picture that makes the most of all subjects is a tall order. I would shoot about 20 pictures and then view them on the computer. Shoot more, repeat, until DD pronounced "enough already mom". Trying to shoot more would not result in anything better, as DD was sick of posing and the dogs can only eat so many treats in one sitting. LOL

This year it will be just the dogs. Glad you started this thread, I need start working on our holiday photo this coming week.

I think it would be fun to frame & display them - in a hall, family/rec room, bathroom etc. - they are such a great collection. Beautiful dogs. & great photos.

Love what Teacats said about "wrangling" cats together for a photo! That would be quite an achievement, Tea! I think your best bet would be to photoshop individual pics of each cat into a group photo! That would be cute!

Those are wonderful! If I tried it with our mongrel horde, I am afraid it would be an 'action' shot. Maybe if I start working with them now-teehee. Of course, they don't have quite the bearing that Mason and Whitney had-wow, they were so beautiful-inside and out!

Your Christmas card photos are the best! I bet your friends & family look forward to receiving these every year. The most recent one is amazing, to get 3 dogs to look into the camera with the a perfect pose...now that's impressive! Love the scarves, lol
